Reciept number on back of AOS cheques

Our AOS/EAD/AP cheques were cashed today. I checked the back of the cheques thinking I could get the receipt number like we did for the fiance petition, and I found what I think is the right string of numbers...3 letters followed by a 10-digit string. Problem is, the 3 letters are MSC and I don't know of any service centres with that abbreviation. There are no other coding strings on the cheque that would work. Anyone else have MSC on theirs? Can I even track it this way, or do I just need to sit tight and wait for the NOA1?

That's the correct number. AOS cases are first processed through Missouri I believe.

07/08/2008 Driver's License renewed

04/20/2009 Lifting of Conditions approved

04/28/2009 Card received in the mail

Thanks. I tried the number in the online case status but it couldn't be verified. I thought I might have the wrong number, but it looks like I'm just too early.

Must be. Some people wait several weeks before they are able to check status online. Don't worry.

My AOS was mailed on 2/22, NOA on 3/2 and finally in the case status section of USCIS on 3/9.

02-21-2006 Filed I-485 and I-765 with lawyer.

03-04-2006 Received NOA on both AOS and EAD.

03-21-2006 Biometrics for AOS & EAD.(Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary)

03-22-2006 AOS & EAD Touched.

03-23-2006 AOS & EAD Touched.

03-31-2006 Emily's Birthday ~ 2 Years Old

03-31-2006 AOS & EAD Touched. (Could be from the AR-11 and I-865 Change of address forms).

04-03-2006 AOS & EAD Touched.

05-09-2006 USCIS Site states that EAD was approved.

05-11-2006 Received EAD Card in the mail.

06-05-2006 Received AOS Interview letter.

07-26-2006 AOS Interview - APPROVED.

07-31-2006 Received WELCOME letter in the mail.

07-31-2006 Received E-mail -- Card is on the way.

08-05-2006 Received Green Card -- Good for 10 years.

11-08-2006 New addition to the family - Anali Grace was born

I couldn't make heads or tails of any numbers on the back of my AOS checks! MSC is what you are looking for. Good luck

All my files I have ever received since starting the AOS process have started with MSC. My AOS application, my 2 EAD applications, and my 2 AP applications all started with MSC. So no worries, you're all good!

And like others have already said, for some reason some applications are in the system really quick and others have taken weeks and weeks. As with anything in this process, nothing is constant!

January 10, 2003: K1 NOA

October 23, 2003: AOS NOA

November 10, 2005: AOS approved w/o interview (749 days!!)

September 30, 2009: German Beibehaltungsgenehmigung

February 9, 2010: Naturalization interview and Oath Ceremony!

It's common for there to be quite a delay before seeing your stuff on USCIS.

26 January 2005 - Entered US as visitor from Canada.
16 May 2005 - Assembled health package, W2s.
27 June 2005 - Sent package off to Chicago lockbox.
28 June 2005 - Package received at Chicago lockbox.
11 July 2005 - RFE: cheques inappropriately placed.
18 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-485, I-131, I-765 received!
19 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-130 received!
24 August 2005 - Biometrics appointment (Naperville, IL).
25 August 2005 - AOS touched.
29 August 2005 - AP, EAD, I-485 touched.
15 September 2005 - AP and EAD approved!
03 February 2006 - SSN arrives (150 days later)
27 February 2006 - NOA 2: Interview for 27 April!!
27 April 2006 - AOS Interview, approved after 10 minutes!
19 May 2006 - 2 year conditional green card.
01 May 2008 - 10 year green card arrives.
09 December 2012 - Assembled N-400 package.
15 January 2013 - Sent package off to Phoenix.
28 January 2013 - RFE: signature missing.

Because the Chicago Lockbox is the receiving station for the former Missouri Service Center, now known as the National Benefits Center.

MSC is the Missour Service Center and our AOS had those letters even though we submitted to the Chicago Lock Box and our local office was in Lousiville, KY.
