Anyone with CR-1/IR-1 visited the VAC in Santo Domingo already??

Just curious. There is a ton of confusion about the new VAC and how it impacts beneficiaries of immigrant visa applications who already have an Interview Appointment at the Santo Domingo Embassy. No one has any clear answers. The VAC and Embassy staff are not sure either. We were told that we could come to the interview without visiting the VAC first, but that the processing of our visa, if approved, would be delayed.

We were able to schedule an appointment with the VAC for next week, Our Embassy interview in on the 23rd of January. We could not get the system to automatically schedule the appointment with our DS-260 filing confirmation number from our filing on the CEAC site back in July. However, we called and they manually scheduled the appointment using that DS-260 confirmation number, along with the SDO case number and my wife's passport number. They said she was only to give finger prints and select which Mail Boxes ETC location she wanted her passport returned to. They said that they would not collect documents because the NVC should have already sent everything to the Embassy. HOWEVER, they told her to bring original copies of her birth certificate, marriage certificate, and updated police report to the VAC "just in case" they needed to take a copy. Along with those documents, the VAC said you must bring the VAC appointment confirmation page, DS-260 confirmation, Embassy interview letter, passport and cedula.

It sounds like no one is really sure how transitional cases are to be processed.

Anyone out there with IR-1/CR-1 visit the VAC yet?

I'm so confused myself. Our interview is on 2/23. I created my husband's profile today, selected where to pick up visa, and then when I entered the case number it said that it's not found and to try later if case # is correct. I called VAC twice today and I guess I'll be calling them next week again

Where you able to do the VAC appointment online?

Did the confirmation letter say she can schedule her medical with it?
