Slim chance of a J-1, but the only way you will know for certain is if you apply.

With a denied B-2 they will likely see you as visa shopping, which puts any kind of nonimmigrant visa for you (other than a K-1) almost completely out of reach.

As a fellow Croat I have sympathy for you! I got my B2 visa fine but my circumstances are different.

I dont know about J1 but if you apply for B2 again here is some advice:

Do not book your ticket before getting the visa.

Purpose of visit is simply 'tourism', thats what the visa is for.

If any questions are asked about acommodation then you are staying with a friend. No mention of him being your boyfriend unless specifically asked.

NO letters of support or anything from anyone in the USA. BIG NO. This most likely was a big reason for your refusal.

And can somebody tell me - worst case scenario - B1/B2 denied - if J1 is denied - is K1 going to be possible ? I mean we have a lot of evidence that we have been together, saw each other 5 times , all around the world.

Denials of a B-2, J-1, or other nonimmigrant visas for "lack of ties" will not affect a K-1 in any way.
