Hi guys! On October 9th 2014 my petition for finance visa was approved from uscis and now I'm waiting for NVC to process the approved petition. it has been almost 3 months since I received the approval notice from uscis and I have no idea what happened with my case. I called the NVC they said they haven't received my case yet and they don't know where it is. Does anyone know if this is normal? Why does it take so long? What should I do? I'm desperate!!! Thank you!

There is another thread where people have found that some applications were mailed to the wrong address. I know it's annoying but the best thing to do is call and raise hell on the phone, or send a polite email or snail mail to find out where you application is.

Good luck on your journey.

Welcome to VJ!

First, the good news: You're not alone. There are a handful of us on VJ (10-15 I think) that were approved in September and October that are in your situation. Here is where we've been posting:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/526480-noa2-to-nvc-have-you-been-waiting-more-than-a-month/

That's really the only good news I have for you.

The bad news: no, it is not normal. USCIS has messed up and isn't very good at fixing the problem.

That link will have advice for you, but I will give you some quick tips:

1. E-mail nvcresearch@state.gov with a copy of your NOA2 immediately.

2. Contact USCIS and put in a service request, asking for your case to be sent to NVC immediately. Do not listen to any BS about how you have to wait 90 days. The US citizen has to do this, the beneficiary cannot do it.

3. The US citizen should contact his/her congressional office and ask for assistance. It hasn't worked for most of us, but it has for a couple.

Good luck.
