I know we need MMR- measles, mumps, rubella

Tetnus/Dyptheria

Chicken Pox- they will take oral testimony, but I do have a note from my childhood Doctor.

Is there anything I am missing? I do have the complete list but I know not all of them will apply to me. I did show that list to the Doctor before I got sent to the Lab for my Titres.

I got my Titres results yesterday. I'm glad I did this early! My Lab work showed no immunity to dyptheria, I had my tetnus/dyptheria booster in November, so I don't know what happened there. I also showed low on measles immunity. I went today and had another tetnus/dyptheria and another MMR. I will do another Titres in a month- to make sure everything shows up in my tests. I just want to make sure they are testing for everything they need to.

If you're between 18-64, I think you're all set. Good thing you did do it all early!

Thanks KitKat! That is the list I brought to the Doctor, but not all will apply to me, that is what I am concerned about. Which ones I know for sure I need to show proof for.

That is the list you need to show proof of - either they are not medicallly necessary for you based on age/immunity or that you received the vaccine.

Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are now required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccination:

Stacey, I think you are all set for your age.

This is the link that Mercy provided before specific to our age group:

I also got my titres done last week (results next week). Yay for Canadian healthcare! :)

I took all the immunization documents that I had in my possession. The doctor went down the list of what was required for me and checked that against the papers I had. I took the list to my GP beforehand and had a couple of titres done-- she documented this for me, as well documented the shot she gave me. It seemed sufficient for my medical :)

Sounds like you have everything well in hand. :)

Well thanks kitkat1 and her list which she posted for me a short time ago, I have had the MMR and influenza shots, the Tetnus and Diptheria aren't necessary this time around I'm good for another 6 years. The doc said that many would not be necessary because of my age, but I told her if there is no record of it and it doesn't show in the titre I want it. Last thing I want to have done is a medical in the States and being told you need this and this and that. Of all the shots listed in kitkat1's list only one is not covered by OHIP.

You won't need another medical when you come to the US. At most, you take the vac supplement that you'll get at your medical (make sure to ask for a copy) and have it transferred to the "correct" form when adjusting status. If you read the AOS form, it states that those who had a medical before hand (K-visas) don't need another, just need to submit proof of vaccinations. I had proof of other vaccinations aside from what as in that link I provided (which is in the consulate info on this site) and the doctor checked "not age appropriate" anyway, so there really is no need to go out and get every vaccination possible.

Question:

On www.panelphysicians.com, it reads for Hepatitis B, is required for ages 19 and under. I am not sure if it is advisable to get it even if you are older than that? Has anyone experienced any issues or questions about this? or even heard /read about it on VJ?

Thanks,

Thanks,

No, you don't need to get it if you are older. Click here for the list of required vaccinations from Packet 3.
