So I checked my visa update and it says "in transit" but I just notice that in the bottom it says that my interview date was given to me by NVC. Does that mean that I already have a interview date and maybe I should call the NVC so I know the date??

That is an automatic message. When my packet was in transit to the embassy it said the same thing, but for the DR is different than other countries. The DR embassy is the one that schedules your interview, not NVC. I know that there are also many changes in the system, so I am not sure if NVC schedules interviews for DR, but I dont think that has changed.

Good Luck.

When I went though this K-1 process before, NVC did assign the interview. I just din't know if that part of it changed.... thanks!

SO AN UPDATE ON THIS.....I called NVC and ask about this issue and I was told that I had to wait on the embassy to give me a interview date so Stefani is right. Thanks for the quick responce.

Due to the process changes in the DR, I think you need to go the Ultradocs website and schedule both your VAC and Embassy interview dates after your case is updated to "Ready"

Check the Santo Domingo Embassy webpage for more info: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html

My fiance had his iterview on Dec 18, 2014. It was approved but they wanted some newer documents. During that time on the CEAC website, the case number changed from the one in the NVC letter. When we look up our case status under the old number is shows "Issued" but if we look it up under the new case number is shows AP. Now we are confused. Is this typical for the case numbers to change?
