Due to the tendency of confusing murderous Islamic geehodees with granmahs apple pie pushers it's become necessary to call them what they are

what?

Nah. The destination is not as important as the journey itself. Take your time and enjoy the scenery.

cool. that's what i've been doing. glad i'm on the right track :luv:

In Ben Gauze EE it was a YouTube video that made the nice boys kill

In Columbine, it was video games. In Colorado, it was Batman. Folks kill for all sorts of reasons.

no. i guess you're a bit old.

I'm not just a little bit offended by that, I'm 'Marvin offended', which is the ultimate pretentious obsession with letting everyone know just how thin your skin is. You see, I'm actually so very old that my throat feels like a desert and my face is the sands of time. That's way more than a 'little'

Wow. You just blew my ego out of the water. The fact that you've obsessed with me to the point you've named your emotional state after me, is just admirable. This made my day. I think I need a speech.

Interesting how the thread is no longer about the topic but rather a back and forth with the 'personality' who thinks he is some sort of message board standup comedian.

You wonder why people like this even bother to offer serious opinions on serious subjects. They just can't take then seriously.

It's not as if real people have been murdered or anything like that.

Interestingly it seems the Kouachi brothers come from the same sort of inner city background as some of the British home grown terrorists.

Historically there has been a major disconnect between what tourists see when they visit Paris and the outlying suburbs. The north African immigrant communities have always been somewhat marginalised.

Which should tell you something about why people like this become radicalised.

Because it's not a serious opinion. It's a hate filled diatribe meant only to showcase what someone feels about the situation. The folks who makes these type of comments are just being hateful, there is no rhyme or reason.

Hopefully, people with common sense can sort through the garbage and learn something positive from the way other members post.

France has treated its Muslim immigrant population pretty poorly right up to the present day and there's a history there that goes back many years. They were essentially used to fight France's dirty wars during the 19th and 20th centuries (much as the british treated the Irish) and there is an element of French nationalism (now as then) that still doesn't regard French Algerians as 'truly French'.

It is encouraging though that the general response to these attacks, as happened in the US after 9/11 is one of general unity and unilateral condemnation.

Case in point - its interesting that an Iranian cartoonist has published cartoons of his cartoonist colleagues with the caption 'Rest in Peace, Brothers'.

So far all fanatics remain marginalised. As they should be. And these folks who think its OK to ascribe collective blame to all Muslims can, with the least possible respect, go eff themselves

In my book, you're da man!

I should have said 'Marvin has a stalker' instead... In any case, take it as a compliment.
