RFE Time Extension?

Hello all:

We are having trouble locating the appropriate evidence to satisfy the RFE by the date it is due. THe deadline is approaching fast and I wanted to know if any one has experience in having their RFE deadline extended?

I guess then all I can say is my understanding is if you don't return the RFE in time your AOS is considered abandoned.

You could at least tell us what the RFE is for. It's hard to give advice when no one knows what the situation is. what have you got to lose?

Not sure why you would have bothered without one.

If you fail to reply by the date given the next thing you will get is a letter of denial....

People were asking questions so they maybe could have given some advice... but advice is not what you are looking for...

Hi

I found myself in the same situation a few months ago. Basically, i did not get all the info that was required in 97 days. This reasons is that i had to apply for an I-824 (which im still waiting on) to show proof that i had applied for a K-1 visa in the first place (thats what i entered the country on, go figure). So what i did was provide them with all the information i could minus the proof of K-1 visa application, plus a letter explaining why i could not provide the K-1 visa info.

Everything turned out fine. They accepted this and my case was resumed.

Thus, write a letter explaining why an extension is required...the address is listed on the yellow RFE form.

and if you can't be more respectful please refrain from posting...because it's wasteful.

People here are trying to help you. If you don't send USCIS everything they ask for you WILL get an RFE. If you can't produce the information and requirements for the I-864 (as it seems to be in the other thread you started) then you'll NEED a co-sponsor. Or get a different job. Unless the requirements for the I-864 are met your AOS will be denied. Period. No extensions. Nada.

wow Bajari7, you sure are an #######. you're getting FREE advice here yet you complain about it. i know its stressing (ive been in the same boat, couldnt find anyone to co-sponsor me at first, and my wife doesnt earn enough), but if you keep up THAT ATTITUDE towards people, you sure as hell WON'T find someone to co-sponsor you. good luck.
