Guess I was just lucky not to have seen that my first month here :/

and of course what may bother you..may not bother others......don't let them get you down..like the slovaks did to Sweden!in the Bronze medal game a few days back! :-)

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I am assuming we're talking hockey... Sorry, I've just returned to Sweden after 3 years in the states where they rarely show any form of hockey that is not NHL so I was not even aware of a game happening :P

I guess that might be it too. I am shocked at how people behave on these forums. It's like people think they can behave however they want just because they are hiding behind a keyboard.

Yes the World Juniors!!

I think many forums are like that...people tend to act differently behind a keyboard!! And then they like to throw out the term "free speech" I guess their term of free speech is different than mine. Oh well..don't let them bother u, it is what it is, Best of luck

It comes and goes in waives, just the way things are.

If you do not like any given thread ignore it.

This thread says it all. There are even members posting on this forum for many years now with no immigration to do, who are here 24/7 and randomly just attacking new immigrants.

I think this is a self esteem issue, mostly.

A country of Immigrants, that hates new Immigrants... Maybe if education was a right and NOT a luxury, it would be different.

Yeah, when I first saw the members who have been here for years I was glad because I though "wow, it's great they want to hang around and help us newbies out, I'm going to do that too!" but then I saw all the mean posts. Now I have decided I am out of here as soon as the whole process is behind me.

I'm glad to see there's still some nice people around :)

Most of the people on this forum who have been here for many years are here to help others because they want to give something back. I know they were very helpful to me last year as I moved to the US. Attacking them just because you are easily offended is counter productive; maybe people won't want to help you when you need it.
