hey guys !!! first off thanks for the great info and advise you have put on this site!!!

it has really been helpful.

i met my fiance in brasil when we were both on vacation november 2004. I of cource from NYC and she from Maringa PR

By the grace of God it just so happened that her university had planned a trip to salvador and chose the same

pousada(bed and breakfast) that i always stay at when i come to salvador.

Now what was odd was 3 things

1. Gringo fever- a condition that an average american male gets when he travels to a latin country and is treated differently

by native females..lol

this was my second time in brasil and i have traveled extensively in other latin countries so i dont think i had the fever

2. I had just got out of a starter marriage and swore never to even think about marriage again

Starter marriage- being married and divorce under 3 years no kids

3. I never believed in love at first sight and always laughed at people who did!!!

Well when she arrived the next day along with about 20 other very beutiful girls from her university i knew from that day on i was going to marry her

We met the next day at the pool party.. She asked me if she could play some forro on the radio i was hogging with my american music

and i countered with "sure if you teach me to dance" She agreed and for the next 3 days we were inseperable.

i moved to brasil the following feburary of 2005 and lived in maringa I returned to the states in june of 2006 and started my fiance visa

in october i just received NOA2 jan 22 and i called NVC today to see if my case was with them it was.

I speak portuguese very well my reading is ok my writing suks!!! Her spoken english is ok but her grammer is better then mine.

I love brasil i taught conversational english to rich brasilians that were visiting usa or just needed to hone there conversational skills

I practiced brasilian jiu jitsu, and went to school .

since june of 2006 i have returned 3 times to brasil and am planning another trip there in march..

I would love to here from some guys that are going to rio soon for there interview.

my 5 year plan is to return to brasil and live there

godbless and good luck

ps my dog passed the interview questions with ease she is the second most beutiful brasilian in in my life right now

don

Welcome to VJ.

You have now entered the world of reading documents. It's no too hard, just intimidating.

So, read the guides, follow the threads, read the documents, and start gathering the supporting documents you will need to start and complete the process.

Oh, and if you get confused don't be afraid to ask.

Good luck on your journey.

I actually visited curitiba many times i love the shopping there and actually had a chance to vist chute boxe acadomia

took pictures with mauricio rua "Shogun" and his brother "ninja"..

And then i went to caioba.

Ive been lucky to have visited many cities in brasil

Although my preference is the north ...the south of brasil is the best to live and i think maringa is the best of the south

Hey, welcome to VJ!

I'm a gringA who fell in love with a Brazilian. When I moved to Brazil (after graduating from college) I had absolutely no intention of dating a Brazilian guy. My initial impression of Brazilian men was that they made good friends, not boyfriends. And I definetly did NOT believe in love at first sight - until I met my fiance.

I can't believe that now, years later, we have an interview for him to move here for us to get married!!!

Don, Congrats on your process.

I've spoken with your fiance a couple times on orkut and I'm torcendo for your two.

From another New Yorker,

Meredith
