It all depends on your wedding plans. How extravagant or simple do you want it to be? If money is an issue, just work it out within your specified budget. USCIS, NVC and the US Embassy doesn't really care if you had a big wedding or not. What they want to see if proof of bonafide relationship.

Good luck and best wishes!

Hi I got married in the Philippines in may of this year. You can stay up to 30 days without a visa there. however if you can not stay that many days it is possible to have everything done in 2 weeks. You will have to plan ahead .I stay there for 28 days but me and my wife waited a week after we got the marriage license before we got married. The cost is up to you. Me and my wife had a simple wedding at her parents house in Bohol the mayor came over and did the officiating. then we had the reception there with food and drink and of course we had Lechon (roast pig) and video karaoke. Filipinos love to sing. I forget exactly how much I spent but it was not that much. Just start planning ahead of time and you can have a nice wedding. a Lot of Filipinos are catholic and if you want to get married in the catholic church it has its own requirement and I am not sure exactly what they are. below are some things you need to do before you go to the philippines

1. go to the embassy website make appointment to get your "Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage."

http://manila.usembassy.gov/marriage.html

2 . your fiancé will need her NSO birth certificate,

3. your fiancé will need a copy of the CENOMAR,I was told I needed a copy of my and I bought it with me but can not remember if I actually needed it you can order a copy from the e-census website it will just show no record found for you

https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Default.aspx

4. you will also need other papers such as divorce record if that apply in your case

After you get your affidavit from the embassy you can apply for the marriage license at the local civil register office of your fiancé place of residence there is a 10 day waiting period after you apply to get the marriage license it is good to marry anywhere in the Philippines and is good for 120 days.

If you do get married there make sure you tell the local civil register office that you want your marriage certificate expedite to the NSO office. In the Philippines every record is sent to a central location and it takes 5 or 6 months for that to happen .Before when you sent in the I-130 petition you could just send in the local civil register copy and later send in the NSO copy but me and a couple of other members on here got RFE for that

Sorry this post is long but there is a lot to do to get married in the Philippines. you can not just fly there next day get married and fly back. I would stay at least 21 day there if I was you ,to give yourself some leeway in case something does not go as plan

the documents you need to get married will not cost that much I think for the affadivit from the embassy was 50 American dollars and maybe another 50 for the cenomar and other paper work .The real cost will come when you file the paper work for the visa, the I-130 petition will cost $420.00 then after it is approved and sent to the nvc you will have to pay other fees aos fee visa fees medical fees. I am not sure how much as that is the stage I am out right now. Here are 2 links that might help you know more what the cost will be

http://www.uscis.gov/

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/fees.html

you could consider the K-1 fiancé visa too. it cost less money upfront and is generally more quicker then the CR/IR-1 spouse visa, but you will pay more in the long run doing that

here is a comparison of the cost and time of the different visa the only two that will concern you will be the K-1 fiancé visa and The IR-1,CR-1 the K_3 visa is obsolete and rarely giving out now and DCF does not apply in your case

k thank you very much......... is it okay if i start the process once i am there

I would wait until you got back if you start the process that quick and they send you RFE (return for evidence) for the NSO copy of marriage certificate you might not have enough time to get it.They only give you 60 days to respond to an RFE and they could dent because of that and you will be out $420 dollars and have to re apply.I would wait at least 3 months or if you can get the NSO certificate faster then you could start the process when you have it

i am confuse your earlier post it seem like you will not have that much time to stay there but now you seem like you will be staying there for a couple of months or more. The marriage license after you apply and wait ten days you will receive is good for 120 days anywhere in the philippines Me and my wife did everything in two weeks i stay there for 28 days

Unless you are talking about the visa process no it will take longer then a coupe of months for the whole process more closer to a year or maybe longer you could do the DCF filing but you will have to be residence there for at least 6 months then you will have to show income from USA or have joint sponsor you will also have to show domicile in USA

to get married there yes but i plan a lot of stuff before i went and made sure i had everything that is the key to plan before you go

but do not misunderstand me that is just to get married the visa process to bring her here will take a lot longer you need to make appointment with embassy online to get your affidivate to marry they only take appointment online and if you wait till you are there all the days might be book

Do not confuse the marriage process and the visa process it is 2 different things and two different processes

If i may ask how much money do you plan on bringing there and where do plan on staying in hotels or at your fiancé house you will also have to figure in cost of airline tickets and spending money for you and her
