Actually, the last time someone touched our file was November 23rd, per the Tier 2 agent I spoke with last week. We still haven't been assigned to an adjudicator as of that call.

So, I called today and filed an expedite request citing two criteria.

The first was financial loss/hardship for having to maintain two homes, travel expenses, etc.

The second was USCIS error. We're past the five month normal processing time, so they've clearly screwed up.

I'll let you know how that goes.

That's funny, because I called yesterday as well and was told "our system is down, call back later" by a Tier 1. She sounded kind of lost though, so I have no idea if she was telling the truth or was just feeding me a line of BS. I plan on calling back today and not taking no for an answer.

By the way, do you know what the "official" reason for your expedite was listed as? It was my understanding that you have to choose one specific reason, and then provide evidence supporting why that reason is applicable to your case.

Hang in there! Once you get past USCIS, things with the state department move very quickly! We waited 6 months for NOA2 (which sucked seeing all the CSC filers get their stuff in a fraction of the time). Get all your stuff for the visa application ready - research the medical, research your local embassy/consulate, and get everything else ready! We had everything ready and were able to get visa in hand within a few weeks of NOA2.

Although it was only last summer that we were dealing with this malarkey, once you get your honey here it all seems to not matter (seriously - POE was 2 months ago, we've been married 6 weeks, and the waiting part feels like it was AGES ago).

Cheering for y'all!

So I called TSC today which is my first call in months, and the lady tells me at least another 2 months to hear anything about our case, well I filed June 30th 2014 and got my NOA1 first week of July 2014. I ask her to transfer me to a Tier 2 and she ask me what did I need to ask them? I said I want to be transfferd to a tier 2 please to ask what is going on with my case. She proceeds to tell me that they will only give me the same information that she gave me, I said fine let them give me that please transfer me. What the heck is going on, now they are the gate keepers??????

I get that this is a long process but can you be honest with me about it don't piss on me and tell me its raining!!!! She says that TSC is a little behind and that they are just processing apps from May 6th what the hell correct me if I'm wrong weren't they doing those back in October 2014? All I am saying is this give people straight answers! i am contacting my State Rep in the morning, this is ridiculous!

Did you get any other information out of the Tier 2 agent?

"A little behind"... Well, I guess it's all relative.

As I read about all of the delay's and watch some go though faster then others is very disappointing. I have a question, is it faster to fly to where your fiance is and get married and change the whole process? or sit and wait? if TSC is so backed up why cant they transfer some of the load to another service center?? When does one start calling them?? and when should you call your congressman?? As for most of us it is hard to try to plan for the wedding when you dont have any idea when your loved one will be here.

Thanks

I find it astonishing how unhelpful TSC/USCIS are. We called yesterday and were given the usual May 6th rubbish - Based on Igor's list I haven't seen any May filers approved in ages so it is pretty clear this is not where they are up to. This information is also 2.5 months old based on the website.

I looked into the wedding visa (K3) and it looks like it is on the same timeline. For TSC processing times the K1 and K3 were identical. Plus you'll get married and then have to go back to your country whilst the K3 processes. I did see somewhere that on a K3 you couldn't visit the US during the process but I could be wrong.

A VJ member earlier on commented that TSC did move some cases to CSC last April/May last year. Might be a bit late for you but we can only hope they do the same soon for us.

Yes, I have also heard that you need to stay in your home country during the process which can take about 6 months or more. That is why me and my fiance choose not to go that route because at least now on the K-1 I can still go to the states and visit him.

After going back and forth with the rep, she tells me that tier two will only tell me the same, so once she tranfered me the tier two told me the same generic repsonse. I was trying to remain patient and calm with her because she was very nice but I really wanted to cuss her out. I told her thanks for her help and as of this morning I have contacted my Senator.

I recieved my NOA 1 first week of March and still have not been approved... Submitted a request for update for being outside the processing time two times and both times was told that background checks were pending... really really annoyed of the process now and almost down to 0 patience. I don't have any criminal history so it is bull s*** that it is taking this long.

I know the grief, that the TSC people is dealing with. Me and my wife went through VSC in 2012-2013, and the Philippines certainly did not go to the front of the line. From NOA 1 til P.O.E. Atlanta, was 10 months and 4 days.

We feel and know your pain, TSC, is what is going on in USCIS, right, who knows anything about them. They do as they want, when they want. It is their game, we just play by their rules.

I wish some of the TSC people that are so far being, would get transferred to CSC, maybe some relief there.

We really wish some "God's speed" to the TSC people. Me and my wife, know your pain.

I'm sorry, but that's not really an "apples to apples" comparison. We aren't talking about waiting months for a POE. We're talking about waiting months just to get NOA2. There are still more months of waiting after that happens. Fiances from the Philippines are clearly getting expedited, some as quickly as four days from NOA1 to NOA2. Those people are definitely jumping the line in front of others who have waited much longer.

Your wait was before the expedite went into place, so you know the kind of wait we're discussing. If a group was jumping the line in front of you (particularly since K-1 should not be expedited), then you'd be frustrated, too.

Philippines-based I-129's may process quickly but the US embassy over there is as slow as molasses. Actually getting an interview appointment is a ####### shoot. You need to constantly check the DOS website for available appointments. They seem to pop-up randomly. The gods of immigration give from one hand and take from the other :)
