Hello

I have read many threads about police checks. I would like to ask is Any Australians have it case complete at NVC and approval at zinger view with just using the police certificate obtained from s name check?

Just to give you some information. I am the beneficiary and the Australian. We are applying for CR1. We are currently at NVC stage and have sent in all our documents including my police certificate obtained through name check. I reside in WA.

I'm hoping we don't get a checklist for not sending a finger print police certificate in.

I also have a question about checklist but il do a separate topic for that.

Cheers in advance for your help!

Dear Oyehope,

The answer is yes and no. There have been Australians who have completed the process with a name check only. There have been Australians who have been issued a checklist for a name check only. The problem is that the Consulate in Sydney (usually only requires a name check) and NVC (usually requires a fingerprint check) require two different things, and it just depends on who picks up your file.

You will probably be OK if you have always lived in WA and your name has never changed. Please note though that the requirements seem to be very fluid and can change at the drop of a hat.

We were an unusual situation (beneficiary lived in Queensland, but had formerly lived in Victoria) and we got checklisted. NVC insisted we needed a police check from BOTH states, which is not true.

Best of luck. My advice to Australians is: if you can afford it, you cannot go wrong with a fingerprint check.
