I also like the Kay Hooper books...

James Patterson Fan

Stephen King Fan

Dean Koontz Fan

Just read the "Left Behind" series...

Reading the Chronicles of Narnia at the moment... along with the "Little Women" series again... love those books...

I am a multi-reader... hehe... like to read more than one book...

My sister just bought a book of poetry for me my birthday... haven't started that one yet... looking forward to it though!

When I have time to read again...something other than immigration or school related (:) ) I'd love to read the Chronicles of Narnia again...its been simply ages! All the classics too...Little Women for example. Gone With The Wind. Ahhhhhhh :)

'Animals in Translation' by Temple Grandin is really good.

I also like anything written by Oliver Sachs.

Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins is fun.

Steve Martin's books 'Shop Girl' and 'The Pleasure of My Company' are excellent.

Gideon's Trumpet is excellent - a must for anyone who cares about Law in the United States (which really means, as immigrants, that we all should be interested)

I've been reading 1984

1984 is a really good book.. a few years back my HS did the play.. that was really good too..

I"m a big fan of the library, because at the rate I read books I"d go broke in like 2 days trying to buy all these books.. When I moved down here I filled a suitcase with books and it weighed like 80 lbs!

I love Stephen King books too.. He's about my favourite Author..

Funny story... I bought the book and then I was home sick the next day. So naturally I was reading it. I was laying there reading the book, and about 20 pages into it my cell phone rang. It nearly made me pee my pants

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Books? *perks up* I read at an absolutely voracious rate, and I tend to stray everywhere except westerns.

Some fine authors:

Sarah Dunant - Renaissance era, rich in details but not so much you're feeling that you read a History of Italy, vol. 3 book. ;)

Sean Russell - The Swans' War trilogy is remarkably well written for a trilogy, and it's believable. A "busy" set with much going on, but it's enthralling. Late nights with this one.

David B. Coe - His "Winds of the Forelands" series isn't done, but the first four books... well, it takes a little to get into, but it's good. Fourth book just came out and I finished it in three hours.

Cecilia Dart-Thornton - One of a pack of tremendously talented Aussie authors we're just seeing. At least I think she's from Oz. Be forewarned: her Crowthistle Trilogy (better than Bitterbynde, imho) has fairly high language. If you don't like words such as viridian and whatnot, look on.

More Aussies:

Jennifer Fallon - Another fantasy writer, known for the "Harshini Chronicles" (Harshini, Medalon and Treason Keep). Very good pace, enjoyable. Not hard to read, and quick paced.

Fiona McIntosh - Into a series called Myrren's Gift. Fantasy but it's really more interesting than that to me. She actually weaves an intriguing cool curse into the premise for an entire story.

More!

Jane Austen - Pride & Prejudice is certainly one of the great classics and it's really a marvelously well written book. If you like film, the 2005 version is well done -- but the BBC mini-series is even better. :)

1776 - I cannot remember who wrote this except he's a Pulitzer Prize winner. It's a great book about the Revolutionary War and, if you're boning up for that citizenship quiz... ;)

26 January 2005 - Entered US as visitor from Canada.
16 May 2005 - Assembled health package, W2s.
27 June 2005 - Sent package off to Chicago lockbox.
28 June 2005 - Package received at Chicago lockbox.

24 August 2005 - Biometrics appointment (Naperville, IL).
25 August 2005 - AOS touched.
29 August 2005 - AP, EAD, I-485 touched.
15 September 2005 - AP and EAD approved!
03 February 2006 - SSN arrives (150 days later)
27 February 2006 - NOA 2: Interview for 27 April!!
27 April 2006 - AOS Interview, approved after 10 minutes!

I just finished up the chronicles of narnia...(had read them before but love reading them again every so often, wish there were more than 7 books) and now am reading a biography on C.S. Lewis (also had read it before, but I like re-reading books!). As you can tell, I love C.S. Lewis. He's my favorite! I hardly know anything about modern writers, I am really out of the loop. My favorite books these days are written by people who are now dead or are about real people who are dead.

I've never read Jane Austen's books but I think I might, my cousin has them all so I can just borrow them.
