Hi everybody, I have just got married and begining the process of adjustment of status, I have several questions, I have already the security social card, I just got it after 2 weeks being here in US.

These are my questions about adjustment of status,

1 - In i-485 in Part 1 Information about you: they are asking me to give my A-number, but I don't think I have this number I am just a K1-visa holder, it is that correct ? It is usually provided above the beneficiary's name on the K1 Visa approval notice (NOA2).

2 - In i-485 in Part 3 Processing Information, Section A: they are asking me about my Noninmigrant Visa Number, but I don't know what is that number the Visa in the passport has several numbers but I don't know what to take. Look a the red stamped number on the K1 visa in your passport. Google search for more information.

3 - In i-485 in Part 3 Processing Information, Section B: my wife did change her name and I am wonder which name she would use in the application ? her maiden name or her new name ? She hasn't changed her name at the passport, social security and driver license yet, which name should she use in this application form ?

Thank you very much for your answer, but in my 3rd question: 3 - In i-485 in Part 3 Processing Information, Section B: my wife did change her name and I am wonder which name she would use in the application ? her maiden name or her new name ?

My wife is US citizen I am the one who is from abroad, I was asking this because she is not going to change her name in her driver license, passport and social security until she does an exam in march, thats why I was wonderning if I should use in the application her maiden name or her name after married, so I should use her married name in the application ?

Thank you again for your help,
I would really appreciate your answer now,
Ariel

The name the USC uses on the AOS forms does not make much difference. The USC wife can go ahead and use her married name where it asks for her name on the forms. She can also use her maiden on the forms and then use her married name later when you need to file for ROC.
