IV paid invoice with the new system.

Hello guys, happy Sunday to you all! Here is a question that I would rather ask here than call NVC.... Back in September, I paid $230 for each visa application that I filed on behalf of my step-daughter, and husband. Now, with the new way of processing documents before the interview at the embassy in santo Domingo, they will have to file the DS-260 forms again, and pay. What I wondering is, what happens to the IV bills that I already paid? What do I do with the confirmation invoice that I have from when I filed? I have been reading about charges of $265 for visa processing to be paid when you create a profile, and to be paid at banco popular... It is really blowing my mind because I am very confused. Is this new thing really going to mess up whatever I already filed back on September? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

If you have already paid the bill and submitted the forms, you don't have to do it a second time.

OMG! Are you sure Ryan? So, I will just have to make the appointment for the VAC to deposit papers and stuff? I am really sorry to bug you, but people here, at VisaJourney, are way more pleasant to deal with, and ask questions to than to NVC. So, let me make sure I get this right, once we get the interview letter, all we have to do is schedule the medical, make the appointment at the VAC to deposit documents, then interview? If so, what happens when I try to create a file at USTRAVELDOCS, and they ask for confirmation number? Do I just put the one that it is on my IV confirmation page that I got back on September? I know there are too many questions, but you are pretty good with this immigration stuff..

What's this VAC you are talking about? You don't have to deposit any documents prior to the interview, you already sent them to the NVC. The Embassy will receive the file from the NVC and that will include what you sent them.

Once the interview date is given by the NVC, just show up on that date and time. You already addressed the medical exam aspect in your last post.

Is creating an account on ustraveldocs necessary as part of the passport return process after the interview? I'm not familiar with that aspect in regards to the Dominican Republic.

Rest your mind Honey&Bunny. The only fee you have left to pay is medical the delivery fee I believe you have in DR of the Visa/Passport and of course the $165 Visa /Green Card production fee you will pay online on the Elis system. http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis

There are no more fees to be paid at NVC. They are good for a year. For you paid #$230 a piece for IV fee that's it same for AOS $88 that's it no more.

So I quess all you are waiting for is Case Complete so you can come join us on the Interview thread I hope its soon. :goofy:

This is what I am talking about..

New Immigrant Visa Process

New Steps to Follow to Apply for Immigrant Visas

Starting in January 2015, all visa applicants, with appointments in the Immigrant Visa Unit, Consular Section, will need to follow the following steps. (If you already have an appointment made by the NVC and/or the Consular Section, you only need to make an appointment to visit the VAC)

1. As soon as you receive your appointment, fill out the form DS-260 on line www.ceac.state.gov you must answer all the questions. If your children are applying for a visa with you, each one must completely fill out the Form DS-260, on line. You must present the print out of the confirmation page, which contains a series of bar codes, and present this confirmation sheet the day of the interview. Please write down the Application ID number that is displayed on the top right hand corner of the page.

2. You need to create your profile/electronic account at www.ustraveldocs.com to schedule your appointment to visit the VAC, (prior to your appointment in the Consular Section). You also need to select the place that you would like to pick up your passport and the immigrant visa package, if issued, in any of the twelve MAILBOXES, ETC locations around the country. Mailboxes, Etc. has 12 locations in the Dominican Republic, in Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Cristobal, Las Terrenas, and La Romana.

Remember to be on time to your visa interview in the Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States, and arrive not earlier than half an hour.

Please check .

If you have additional questions, please visit our website http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/ or our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/EmbajadaUSASantoDomingo .

Thank you for your reply, it is really good to know that. What is really worrying me are not so much the fees, but the new way of filing documents prior to the interview. I already filed those DS-260 forms, and I am afraid that it is going to get all screw up. I keep reading it over, and over, and I don't get it! I really don't want to call NVC anymore because EVERYTIME I call, I am left with more questions than answers, plus, they are THE MOST MISERABLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH! I know I sound way too negative about them, but I am only talking from experience....

I get it now.

Make the VAC appointment through the ustraveldocs website. I never had to deal with that website so I cannot definitively say one way or the other the proper way to answer the confirmation number question.

For the VAC appointment, they will take biometrics, if there are any needed documents that were not sent to the NVC, then this would be the time to submit them.

you don't have to pay again I called the NVC because I was confused as well. Just make sure you print the receipts with the bar codes and take them with you when you go to the VAC and the embassy as proved of you payment (I think the scan the paper). I read that on the embassy web-side but don't remember exactly where. The embassy has set up a phone number that you can call for free, I'm not sure if the info they provide it's helpful but you can give it a try tomorrow.
