when will I get the letter from NVC asking for the Police Certificate

I'm currently waiting for my case number as NVC received my case on December 19th. Once I get the case number, I will give them my email.

Is this when I'll receive a letter for a police certificate?

If I don't get it before Mid February I can pick one up from the embassy as I'll be over there on a visit.

After you pay the immigrant visa fee you will be instructed by NVC to submit civil documents including the PC.

Have you resided/worked abroad (outside the Philippines) for 12 months or longer?

You would most likely need to provide the clerance certificate when the NVC asks you for supporting documents. It wont be right away after getting case number from NVC. It takes a while to get the letter for supporting documents...You will receive it after you pay few nvc fees.

My wife resided in both Singapore and Hong Kong for years. I'm considering flying with her in February as it seems like such a hassle by mail.

Its a catch 22. Singapore won't issue without a checklist and NVC will issue only after you fail to turn it in.

I'll be in Manila in February so I'll probably just get one from the Embassy. I'm considering just flying to Singapore to apply for it.

make sure its the NBI clearance.....I thought it was a police certificate and ended up with a checklist
