I-485: The Interview

Hi All,

Our interview is coming up on January 20th. The letter indicated to present a few documents "unless already submitted". For example, the examination form, the affidavit of support docs...etc.

My question is, do we still need to bring all these if they were already submitted with the application?

What type of things do they ask for at the interview. Anyone who has undergone this phase, can you please let me know your experience?

I would take a copy of everything ever submitted. Good luck at interview!

Hi I hope you are doing well. Well we got there about 35 minutes early and we waited about an hour. The lady that took us as 30 minutes behind schedule so the wait seemed forever. Anyway, she first said she was going to go over the application with us and literally asked the same questions that we completed on the i-485 form....she asked every single one of those "yes" and "no" questions. After this she asked random questions like how we met, when did he propose, what our families think of this, names of family members and then asked if we had anymore proof so at this instance we gave her photos, bank statements and lease agreements. After this she said congratulations you will receive your visa in 2 weeks. That's it...took 30 minutes the whole thing. It seemed to me they spend more time on the application portion than they do on the personal part.
