Hello,

I am American. My Mexican fiancé's I-601 was approved by the Nebraska Service Center (this according to the USCIS status update website as well as the telephone recorded information, but we never received a hard copy letter nor has our attorney). The date of the approval is showing as November 26, 2014 which was the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. So I am wondering if somehow if being approved right before a holiday somehow caused us never receiving a letter (assuming possibly everyone was working to get out of work early for the holiday and a step was skipped in processing).

My attorney has informed me the letter is really only the same thing we are reading online and doesn't help with the next steps, which she said an electronic file is submitted to the consulate in CD Juarez. Once they receive this information I was told we should receive something from CDJ giving us the next steps to make an appointment. Its been over a month and still haven't heard a peep from CDJ and myself as well as my attorney have contacted CDJ and neither of us have received any sort of response. It was suggested I go ahead and start preparing all of the necessary documents, DS-160, etc so when things are finally received we will be ready to go.

So I have a few questions. 1, has anyone else who received an approval right before a holiday seen a lag in their information sent to CDJ, 2, is this the correct procedure of things in regards to once getting a waiver approval that CDJ would receive our information electronically and be contacting us (how would they contact us), 3, what should we do if we still do not hear from CDJ in the very near future. From what I have read many people have heard from CDJ fairly quickly after their waiver approval. There is no way to actually reach a person by phone that has been able to give us any info. From the lack of response from CDJ It feels like our file and information is lost somewhere in the system.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

So, you already had the K-1 interview and were denied and told you were eligible to file for a waiver? You may be required to have another medical and interview. Have you checked on the AP status site of the Juarez consulate website? > http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/res_iv_info.html

~ Moved from K-1 Process to Waivers and Administrative Processes - topic is 601 waiver ~

Yes we have been through all the steps, denial sent 601 and finally approved. I know we will have to do the interview and medical again. My question is not in regards to this, My question is in regards to when we will hear from CDJ on when they received our electronic file from USCIS so we can actually make an appointment. I want to know if anyone else is having a delay or had a delay in the past due to a holiday or some other reason. There is nothing at all on the CDJ site.

Thank you!

I have a question, what was the reason for the 601? I went to the interview as well and my fiance has to file the 601 waiver for misrepresentation, and how long did it take for them to approve it?
