Hello,

My husband traveled to the US from the UK in June, we married in August and filed his I-485 adjustment of status and I-765 work authorization form that same month. We received an RFE for the I-485, submitted the additional evidence mid November, and recently received correspondence regarding that. They identified our application as a potential interview waiver case. Which is great news. However it's been almost 120 days since we filed for the I-765 work authorization form and have yet to hear anything back about it. About when should that be approved? Should we get a receipt number for filing the form at all? And is there a way to check the status? I'm worried that they may not have processed it or something. My husband is just getting very anxious sitting around at home all day and we're hoping that his work authorization comes through soon.

I just need to know if this is normal (especially with it being the holidays lately) or if I should contact someone to confirm it was received. Any help is appreciated!

Yes you get a receipt (NOA1) with a case number for the EAD. IF YOU FILE AOS/EAD/AP together, you get three receipts with three case numbers. You also should get a biometric appointment notice with two barcodes...one for the AOS case and one for the EAD case.

Your EAD was most likely put on hold too while you had the pending RFE. You can contact them about it being 120 days since you filed the I-765 and see about putting in a service request.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas Progress Reports - topic is AOS case status, not K-1 process ~

Did you not receive more than one NOA? You should have received one for AOS, one for EAD, and one for AP (of you applied for advance parole)

Did you do your biometrics for AOS? Your biometrics appointment letter would have the applications at the top for which you are doing biometrics for (i.e. mine said I-485 & I-765)

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

07-11-2022: Naturalization Interview
