We know how you feel, as I made the trip to the Philippines, in Dec., 2012, and we were "just guessing," that my wife's medical and interview, would be then.

I have read so many times on this site, even from Mods., that the "golden rule is, never buy or plan anything associated with an application, until you have a visa in your hand!"

We made the mistake, and I came home late Dec. '12, just back a few days we were approved on New Years Eve, as me and my now wife, were talking on Skype. We were elated. That was 186 days.

So, even after that, and many delays, my wife did not POE Atlanta, until 4-24-13.

So, this is what happened to us, and I am sure that many others have similar "horror" stories.

Just reflecting, what can happen, and maybe half the time does. Things do not go as planned, very often.

Good luck, as you do have a significant problem.,.,as we never had any applications, lost, for me personally, I would be ringing, somebody's phone every minute of the day. Until I discovered what was going on, for sure.

December 5 is a tough date to get the NOA2 (I assume that is what you mean by 'approval')

People start taking vacation days, the number of petitions stay the same, but the number of workers decrease in both NVC and USCIS as the holidays approach. It can take up to 60 days for USCIS to send the petition to NVC.

keep calling, but stay sane and be patient.

good luck

This.

Many of us have our own nightmares but this is a plan... keep calling and accept the fact that in some cases there are delays.

Hope it all works out soon.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

you need to wait till the uscis tells you that your case has been forwarded to the nvc, texas does like this: they send you and email of no2 then send you email or text once your case is forwarded to the nvc

Are you sure your case is still at the NVC? Sometimes they get sent to the embassy and people don't know. I would reach out to your embassy just to make sure they don't have the case already.

Also, do you have everything ready for the embassy interview? If not, use this time wisely and get absolutely everything in order so you're not wasting time and delaying the process even longer. Make sure your fiance has a birth certificate, police clearance, passport that is valid long enough, medical (if possible to do early), etc. In some countries it can take a long time to get these documents so make sure you're all ready.

my fiancee kept calling them for 2 weeks and the answer was always (we haven't received your file yet, please wait for 35 days).

I tried to call the US embassy in Ankara but I couldn't get to anyone (they kept me on hold for 186 min).

how can we check about our file?? if you could help I would appreciate any effort :mellow:

BTW I got everything ready except the medical check

I'm not familiar enough with your embassy so hopefully someone else can help. I would just keep trying to get in touch with them. Wait as long as you have to on the phone. It's a long shot, but it's possible you're already at the embassy. For me, I was never notified when my file made it to the embassy so I didn't find out until I contacted them.

I wish I could offer more help. If contacting the embassy doesn't work, then get your senator/congressman, and anyone else you can think of involved. The one thing I would not do is accept their standard "keep waiting" responses.

Hi everybody

please I want your help or advice

we got approved on December 2nd after 175 days of waiting, we were so happy and my fiancee started to get ready for the wedding, the apartment, the new car, etc... and we arranged for our wedding to be on march 29th. all the people around us said that everything now would move as fast as a lightning. in the beginning they said we have to wait for 2 weeks then we should start call NVC to inquire about our case, but everything will be OK.

on December 5th USCIS informed us that they sent our case to NVC, couples of days later we received the hard copy of the approval ((everything was moving smoothly)).

we started to call them after 2 weeks and we noticed that the other cases of the same batch started to get their cases done. my fiancee asked me to be patient and it will be a matter of couples of days and we will get it.

today it's been for 33 days, all the times we called them, NVC employees told us to wait for 30 days.

my fiancee sent an email to them to inquire about the case and when we asked when would be the response they said after one month!!!! (I thought they were kidding but they were not).

we are so lost and delirious now, all the people of the same date of approval or the people after us by 10 days got their cases done.

USCIS said they sent the file

NVC has said they didn't receive it.

what should we do????

Please check this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/529368-nvc-have-lost-our-file-any-advice-hugely-welcome/

Maybe the same happened to you and I guess it could be worth to call USCIS again!!

Hopefully it will be fixed soon!
