Hey - we have begun the process of applying for the CR-1 spousal visa from Poland . I'm a US citizen, my wife is Polish. There are no lawyers in Poland that specialize in US immigration law, so I had to find some one on the internet. I'm not so comfortable paying an online law firm with a credit card , but we did it anyhow- they said the whole process could cost as much as $3000 - from petition to the rest of it all - we've paid the $1500 so far - started the ball rolling back in October, and we just got the I-797 Notice of Action from Uncle Sam , so I guess it's all okay so far.

Question : Has anybody on this site used Visa-Pro before? are hey any good, or did I just give my money and identification info to an scam operation from Nigeria/Mumbai/Romania ?

Feedback please

Most everyone on this site was self petition.

Hard part is gathering the information, all a lawyer or Visa prep company can do is fill in paperwork and mail in package.

Seems like a lot of money to spend for such a simple process....

yea most folks over here are working on their own.

Sometime these lawyers can get things wrong and not care about case which results in delay.

My wife lives in US and we are doing it on our own. There is plenty of info over internet and folks here in VJ are very helpful with info and suggestion. And just to cross check the forms and for their feedback, we visit a immigration lawyer at US itself. this way its way too cheaper.

Unless you have some special circumstances, you should be able to do it yourself. Majority of people here does that.

Poland is not a particularly difficult country for CR1 or K-1s and the majority of petitions have no hassles.

If you could get off your contract with that firm -and avoid additional payments- I would.

~~moved to general discussion as OP is not asking about the IR1 process but about a lawfirm or visa service from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~
