Remote Worker in US

Hello,

Sorry if this was posted somewhere or if this has already been asked.....

I'm a Canadian looking to move to the US. My job is pretty flexible and I can work almost anywhere there's an internet connection. Based on the research I have done, I would need a TN Visa. I do not have any post secondary certificates or diplomas but I was told I could apply for a TN Visa using a "Management Consultant" profession. I currently hold the duties of this role but I do not actually work as a contractor for my current employer but that can be arranged.

I plan to continue to work for the Canadian company while living in the US. They do not have any US Branches and operate solely out of Canada. I do not plan to work for a US company.

Any guidance would be great..

Thanks,

Andrew

A work visa would be for working for a US employer.

Have you looked at Investment Visa's?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Like an E-Visa? I do have some cash put aside for this purpose but no where near what I'm reading is required for most. I also read this:

Can I gain E status as a self-employed professional?

No. The principal applicant should be going to the USA to 'develop and direct' his/her trade or investment, not to be a factor of production or trade in his/her own right. Thus accountants, IT consultants, doctors, lawyers, etc, cannot obtain E status to enable themselves to practice their profession in the USA.

I was thinking of the EB 5

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
