Hi everyone and happy new year. I just got back from post office and got the money order for aos , 1 is a 1000 dollars and the other is 70 dollars , cuz she said their maximum is 1000 dollars. Now my concern is cuz she said to me i have to writte everything on it , on a lil space i had to writte all that ' U.S. Department of Homeland Security' and then underneath that asks for the adresse and then on the left side asks my adresse and name .

Because i m new on this things and i don t know . Is that normal that i have to writte all the info in the money order or the lady had to do it on computer? My wife doesn t know either about the money orders.

And what if my hand writting is messed up cuz the small space on that paper. And the adresse on it i should writte the one of Chicago,Illinois correct?

Please give me some help , i know it s a stupid to ask about money orders, but all this long process with the embassy and now with uscis has made us paranoid about everything, thanks a lot for ur time .

More than one money order is fine, as long as it totals the $1070.00. I would try to complete the money order as stated, as if there are issues with cashing the funds, it is your responsibility. You can still write a check versus a money order. Payment is made to U. S. Department of Homeland Security.

The address is:

Likely a non-issue if the form instructions are correctly followed. BTW, money orders are specifically mentioned on page 5 of the Form I-485 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

Good luck on your immigration journey.
