APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby had his interview this morning at Lagos Embassy and was approved....we are so happy and excited, according to my husband the interview went quick (2mins) he was asked a few questions. He also mentioned that the CO stated that the way I packed the documents was exceptional. My husband was asked the following and told to pick his visa up in 2weeks. He did mention that the wait was very long his interview was scheduled for 8am but didn’t get interviewed until after 1pm

Who petitioned for you?

What does your wife do?

Where and what did you wife study in college?

What type of wedding did you do?

How many siblings does your wife have?

How many siblings before her?

How many boys and girls?

She asked for the original birth certificate and police clearance and told my husband that he is approved.

Hubby stated the lady was very nice and didn’t even ask to see pictures or any of our correspondences.

Hi,

I had a question. I got married on 28 Dec 2014 and have put filing status single for irs return 1040 ez.

yes I know it is mentioned on vj that no matter where your spouse is, if you are married at end of tax period that is upto 31 Dec 2014 then have to file as married filing jointly or married filing separately.

now situation is that I have interview in 10 days from now on 15 th Dec 2015 . and if it comes to co's notice it could be a red flag I guess . but my reason is that we didn't file married because beneficiary doesn't have Ssn number. we didn't have any other intention to hide or something. now I cannot ammend returns now as it takes three weeks to get amended return. if counter asked what answer can I give to support? any suggestions? has anyone got into such a situation. your inputs could be a great help.

thanks all.

@amirulzin

my husband also filled as single for the same reason (actually the person who does his tax told him that's the right way) and when I come to the US he will amend last tax return. We didn't get any RFE for that nor was there any problems at the interview. Good luck
