Guys I need some help.

I was reviewing the Civil Documents needed by NVC and got confused at photocopy vs Certified Copy.

I am the petitioner and am appllying for my Wife.

Can I send photocopies of my wife's birth certificate and marriage certificate to NVC or I actually need to send certified copies.

Per my research, certified copy is obtained from the actual issuing authority and is pretty much a second original copy with original stamps on it.

Please help.

Thanks

Hey championwaqas! You will only need to submit the photocopies of the documents to the NVC. You don't have to submit any original documents at the NVC. Only photocopies. However, you will need the originals or certified copies at your interview.

Hope that helps!

Guys, we have come up with an issue and would appreciate any help.

So last night I tried to check if our AOS fee status had changed to "PAID", and it was then that I realized the NVC people have entered the petitioner, i.e. my husband's MIDDLE name incorrectly. It is just a tiny bit of spelling mistake, they have just added an extra letter by mistake, but what should we do now? We know it is definitely their mistake, since we had the perfect and correct names in our I-130 too, and in all the documents.

Should I call them and let them know about this? If yes, would it delay the processing of our case for days? Or probably even weeks? We are going to send the AOS and IV packages in on Monday.

Or should we just ignore it?

Any help would be appreciated guys. Thank you in advance.

Both the AOS and the IV Fee show PAID now. For me the Applicant, under the IV Fee it's telling me to fill out form DS-260. For my wife under the AOS fee, it says Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Collect Financial Documents.

Is my wife clicking on her step and filling out and attaching her AOS paperwork ? I'm I clicking clicking and filling out and submitting the IV application (currently says Not Started) ?

I'm guessing the Print out Cover sheet with the code bar is only for Mail in not On line correct ?

I'm guessing when submitting viva MAIL, then both the AOS and IV applications have to be submitted together. but since we are doing it on line, she is doing her step and I'm doing mine ?

Thanks

As I understand it, the IV FEE can sometimes take anywhere from 4 days to several weeks to become available.

Let me clarify a couple things for you, for the sake of terminology:

1. The IV application is form:DS261. This is completed online by "the agent".

The supporting documents that are sent to the NVC:

1. I-864 form

2. I-864 supporting documents

3. Immigrant application supporting documents ( courts, marriage, divorce, police certificates, birth certificate, etc etc)

To answer your questions:

*** Once the AOS fee shows paid, you may print out the BarCode cover sheet.

*** The i-864 form, i864 supporting documents, AND all the immigration application supporting documents SHOULD BE SENT TOGETHER IN SAME PACKET, failure to do so may result in delay of your application. This entire package can be sent to the NVC as soon as you have a barcode to send it.

*** The BacCode coversheet must be attached to the front of this package sent to the NVC. I initially had difficult trying to print the cover sheet because I did not notice that google chrome was blocking pop-ups. Instead, i used Internet Explorer and then went to the "receipts" section. The click "print receipt"............ Then AT THE BOTTOM of the receipt page is a link called "PRINT DOCUMENT COVER SHEET"..... Once you click that link a new pop up will open up and then asking you to download the "pdf" document.

*** Opening the PDF document in windows, or alternatively you can log onto www.pdfescape.com......... and view and print from there.

Hi,

I called this morning and got our case number, what's the next step. When I called the operator said they dont have my email on file, however, I am pretty sure I filled it out on my file. She said it will take 28 days to get it by mail and that I can call back and provide an email address. She it might it just be that they are still not done putting my file in the system and that's why the email isn't showing up. She didnt my give me invoice ID number. What should I do. How long does it take to receive an email once the case number is assigned. At least the case number is assigned :joy: :joy: :joy: . one step closer to being back with my love. (L)

Thank You.
