January 2015 I-130 filers!

I just need to vent. The notice date for the NOA2 was June 27, 2015 and USCIS' website says it was mailed to NVC on July 7. We still haven't heard anything. I've tried calling every so often but have never been able to get through. This morning I started calling right as they opened, about 20 minutes ago and it already says all reps are busy. It reminds me of one time when I called USCIS and got a recording saying to call back after 8am...it was 8:30am. It's hard being on Central Time because I'm asleep when NVC is closed. I wish it was like most places that at least gave options when you were on hold, like you could at least get the AVR. Soon enough I'll hear something.

Your case number and IIN should be assigned by now. I know its a pain, but to get through to the NVC during operating hours, you just have to keep redialing until you get through. Also, your NVC welcome letter should arrive in the mail by early next week. If you are not able to get through to the NVC by then, it will contain the information necessary for you to get started.

Well you will need to keep on calling and calling and calling. These lines are busy all the time. I usually have to call 15-20 times before I get through.

Funny enough as soon as I posted that I got though and spoke with an initial person who said I had a case there and transferred me to an agent before I could say anything. It's great, but now I'm on hold again. The system said 20 minutes and it's been about 10. I'm happy they've received it though!

Oh boy, so I got through and got my case number and IID. Woo! But the guy said it can take up to 42 days for them to process it and send out the welcome letter. Urg.

Try logging on to CEAC now and see if you can complete your DS 261 and pay the AOS fee. Sometimes it takes a few days to work.

One time I was on hold for 1 hour and 30 min.

For now you can log in and fill out the choice of agent and pay the AOS.

For me I only needed the welcome letter to request Hong Kong police certificate.

Hi just reading your timeline. I paid the AOS Fee and it says PAID on line, however need to wait 15 days for the IV Fee to become available, then I can submit the DS-260.

DId you mail your documents to NVC for you to receive the IV Fee invoice and pay it ? Just trying to understand the process. We want to pay the IV Fee and move on to the next step-fill out and submit DS-260. Thansk

Hi Roni! You Can't pay the IV fee yet, unless yOu receive the IV fee Invoice.. In our case, We pay them via mail because online payment is not working that time. We mailed it to the Address below:

I just tried to log in and got a message saying my case is in the process of being terminated and to contact NVC immediately if I believe it's a mistake. I'm going to start calling first thing Monday morning because it's obviously a mistake and I'm freaking out.

Don't freak out, it's normal, it means they are in the process of sending your AOS invoice. I got that message for 5 days after filling out the ds261, then on day 6 I was able to pay the fee.

Kristen. ...The same thing happened to me...I selected the agent but I can't sign in to the payment portal.... I called them but they just told me to wait for a couple of days.....still waiting. .....Pls let me know what they will say if you call....

Don't panic. This exact situation is mentioned in the NVC wiki. Your AOS fee should be invoiced within a couple days. It's a weird glitch that means they are processing your case.

Thanks everyone for the explanation. That's the worst possible glitch I can think of! It's good to know however that it's not nearly as bad as it sounds.
