Hi! I got my NOA1 on 21st of January 2015 but since then we haven't heard anything! I keep on checking the USCIS case status, but it hasn't changed. It has been saying "Your Case Was Recieved". Does anyone know if the case statuses do change? or do they just changed from recieved to approved? should i keep on checking the case status? because it is depressing!

Also the estimated time on my timeline keeps on getting pushed back! what is up with that?! Tired already. I think the USCIS part is the worst.

Have any of the January filers heard anything?

Those dates are fairly accurate. NOA2 is pretty much within the predicted dates. Good Luck!

I suggest checking the Status once or twice a week, because you never know. The status wont change till approval. It'll then change to:

Case Was Approved

On Month xx, 2015, we approved your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number EAC9999999999. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I wish the USCIS website had little markers or something so that we at least knew that they were working on our petitions and not just that they were received and sitting in a box waiting to be looked at. And, how is it that the processing dates can go backwards?? I was sure the last time I looked @ Nebraska's dates it showed as Oct 14, and, today, it shows as Oct 8 - rrrggghhhh.

At some point in time we will be looking back and going, WOW, we made it through the process!! This is definitely not meant for the weak or faint hearted.

At least I am going back to California for over two weeks to see my husband. Will have to remember to take all the info to show I have a vested interest in Canada to return to.

Well, I wish everyone well. Hang in there. I've got big ears and broad shoulders so, if someone needs a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on, I usually appear in this room from time to time.

Thanks to all for their encouraging word. KEEP THE FAITH!!

I am a wee bit nervous myself this time because now I am "in the system" ; )

However, I take along with me every time, a letter from my human resources department that I have worked for the company for "x" number of years and that I am expected back to work on June 2nd, 2015. Plus I take a long a copy of my mortgage papers, plus my house insurance papers, to show that I have an invested interest to return to Canada.

I leave on May 15th and return on May 31st. When are you going to see your husband?

Yes, I am also wondering what Shanelle is. Why does the date keep on going back and forth? There was a time when it was showing November for Texas. Now its back to October. What is up with that?

I've read/seen on this site a list of documents needed to file along with Form I-130, for a marriage based case between a US citizen (living in New York) and a foreign citizen (living abroad), yet still I would appreciate if someone can describe/list ALL the documents needed in this situation...Would be nice if someone can list whatever they have sent out with this Form, including the cover letter...I'm actually more interested to know about what evidences could be sent out with this Form about the marriage if parties have no other evidence/proof than simply a marriage certificate as parties got married in the civil court in abroad...As for submitting affidavits from two people who could state that they were the witnessed to the marriage is also not possible because those witnesses who were present at civil wedding have refused to provide any affidavits....Both parties have no one to provide affidavits too because they got married without the approvals of family and friends. They were all alone in the civil court, and those two witnesses were provided by law-firm who had helped in getting them married in the court. So they have no other proof than just their marriage certificate. What they could submit now with this Form? Thank you so much....

I did a civil court wedding as well with my husband abroad though I had my family and his friends as witnesses , when sending my i130 I submitted the following

1. Cover letter

2.i130 form and biometric form

3.marriage certificate

4. Passport photos of my husband and I

3. Copy of my US passport

4.copy of my US birth certificate

5. Joint account bank statement ( my husband and I op a joint account abroad)

6. Picture copies of our traditional wedding, civil court wedding, pics of us with family members and friends

7. Letter describing our relationship ( how we met, got engaged and married)

8.$420 check for filing the petition

That's all I send along with my i130 and I shipped it next day delivery. Just waiting in NOA2 now ?

My husband and I got married in the Philippines last August 9, 2013, in a beautiful garden ceremony officiated by a Christian pastor. It was a small ceremony, attended mostly of my family and friends. His parents were not able to attend because of old age. The requirements we submitted with our I-130 petition when we sent it to the Chicago office address of USCIS this January 2015 were : 1) biographical information ( one for each of us) 2) copy of our marriage contract ( certified by NSO, red - ribboned by DFA ) 3) copy of my husband's divorce papers 4) copy of our passport information page 5) our passport sized photos. 6)cheque for $420 Since we did not submit additional evidence of bonafide and ongoing marital union, I was expecting an RFE. Thank God, Nebraska Service Center approved our petition on March 17, 2015, and was sent to NVC on March 27, 2015.

In addition to the set of forms (I-130, two G-325a), cover letter, marriage certificate\registry, birth cert, proof of USC, and payment.. that I’m sure you’ve already read about and others here documented..

You must prove the marriage and relationship is bonafide. How did you guys meet? Records of communications before you met, emails, call\chats logs, texts. Copy of airline ticket\boarding passes can also be included with a description on the cover letter. Document that may show if the marriage venue where the civil ceremony took place was reserved, any pictures. If no witnesses, could the person\paster\judge who officiated at the wedding provide a written statement, or perhaps someone from the law-firm? And if family didn't know, affidavit from friends or colleagues who knew about the wedding wouldn't hurt. If you two took trips post-nuptual, hotel, restaurant bills and pics. Receipts if you bought rings\gifts, etc for each other.

Correspondence since the wedding.

Basically any evidence that supports you two spending time together, are married and continue to have a marital relationship. Since you appear to be low on documentary evidence, any little thing couldn't hurt.

Nice...and thnx...but just wondering why the copy of your passport (from beneficiary) was submitted with form I-130? I believe you got lucky to get approved without submitting no evidence of bonafide of your marriage; otherwise even instructions on I-130 state that applicants must need to submit evidence of bonafide of marriage along with a mere marriage certificate, and many people over here reported over the years that many of them were received RFE in this respect...I have been here for many years to notice it up...Do you think you submitted many pics of marriage wherein friends/family members are been seen??

It was actually my husband who decided to submit a copy of my passport information page along with his. With regards to photos, we did not submit any. But if NVC would request them, we have a lot, with evidence of our marriage being bonafide and ongoing.
