my son sponsored me for immigrant visa. i 130 is approved and at NVC stage. I have been to USA before on B/1 B/2 visa about 21 years ago.i had life threats back in my country ie Bangladesh at that time, I therefore applied for political asylum while I was in US, after expiry of my i94. which was denied and at the same time i was issued notice of hearing/show cause in removal proceedings. meanwhile the Govt in my country changed and it was safe to go back. i therefore applied for voluntary departure at an early date which was granted to me and i left US in July 1994. in 1998 I was again issued B/1 B/2 visa for five years but i did not visit US. second time when I applied for visa again it was refused in view of my immigration history. now i am wondering if there would be problem in my immigrant visa. I dont think that overstay back in 1994 ie 21 years ago comes under admissibility or ineligibility but I think that interview would revolve around this. Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated. thanks
