Mailed off the I-129f on 1/13/15 and saw that it was delivered this morning. It feels good to start the process and now the waiting begins

FYI to all ya'll at CSC, you really shouldn't be complaining about waiting weeks for your NAO2 when the USCIS stated processing time is 5 months for the I-129f. Your timeline on VJ is not a cornerston

Received my receipt today.. How do we usually have to wait until the next step?!

Your question is not clear.Can you please explain what receipt ? and what stage are you in ? try to edit and update your status.

I got this letter in the mail basically saying my case was in process. It came from California. I was just wondering what happens after.

If that letter say yours and your fiancé detail with accepted confirmation and showing that your petition is routed to California then this should be NOA1. You are one of those lucky people who gets approval with in 2 weeks after this letter because of fast California centre( CSC ) . you will get another letter within 2 weeks from now so called NOA2 which is basically approval petition hardcopy and then CSC will send your approval petition to NVC which is again a short stay for approved petitions they will assign a new reference number to your case and will send the petition to the foreign country US consulate where your fiancé lives for further process. Disclaimer: 2 weeks isn't guaranteed, the process officially takes 5 months. CSC, however, is crazy fast right now and approves in less than an month, whereas the other Service Center, where I have been stuck, takes 7 months+.

You need to change your servicing center (place benefits filed at) to California then, not texas, and no you weren't transferred. It's important to keep the integrity of the site timelines....
