Hello everyone,

we filed in Jan and had NOA1 13 days ago- and I am also wondering how some are approved after 5-9 days from NOA1...

We also both divorced (not once), names changed, some other complications (nothing serious). Maybe it plays a role, though I submitted all possible documents after reading more than one sites on how to assemble petition and what to submit... I literally have nothing else to add, so I can't imagine getting RFE.

I am very curious about the order they handle petitions.

Normally USCIS processes petitions in order they had received them, however each case is different and some cases require additional information and background check. So my advice is to be patient. Most of us CSC filers are approved within days and not months like TSC. I can only imagine how they feel seeing such a big difference.

I am sure you will either be approved or hear something within the estimated time on your timeline February 17, 2015 and February 22, 2015.

Good luck on your journey!

Privet to fellow CSC/Russia filers!

Generally true, but look- your RFE took 29 days...

To me, the mystery part of UCSIS process is the most difficult. It would be much easier if they either updated status more often, or communicated better. Not the waiting time itself.

Oh, well. Udachi vam tozhe!

Привет! :)

Well I also thought with everything I read prior to sending our petition there was no way we will get RFE! And look at us
Technically it took 24 days for them to look at our case and see what they are missing to approve. The rest of the time is receiving the mail, collecting the needed evidence and mailing it back, so the countdown started yesterday and I am hopeful!
I think they don't update status more often because they don't look at each case too often :) I think they receive it and put it on the shelf until it is time to actually look at cases received a certain day, then they approve the "easy" cases and put aside the once that need more info. There are also multiple officers of course, so some may work faster and some slower. At this point it's all speculations.

My fiancé and I visited San Francisco last November and we loved it, in fact I am wearing a San Francisco pink hoodie right now!
Прорвёмся!!!

Yea, SF is beautiful:)

I am going to follow you guys and see how we progress. If you are in the states right now, are you flying to Moscow for the interview? My fiance is in Turkey, and as soon as I get NOA2, he will fly to Moscow to prep. I am going there in couple of weeks to visit family.

What did they want for your RFE? As I remember from this thread- passport from you USC? I already submitted two, just in case- my naturalization cert and US passport first page only.

Let's see how our timelines will go.

Yeah, I am in the states at the moment, but I should be back to Russia before March starts. However if we get approved shortly I will fly out immediately.

As for RFE we originally sent in his birth certificate as a proof of citizenship, but it was a certificate issued by the hospital, not the vital records office, so in the letter we got from USCIS they specifically stated it is not accepted and that they need a long form. And his passport had expired recently, so we went for the long form which cost us additional $56 to order online and receive by ups in 2 days.

The second thing was fiancé's court records. I've read originally that they want certified copies, but my fiancé said he will just sign the paper and it will be ok :) Well now we learned the hard way it is not ok and we paid another $25 for obtaining copies and certifying it in court.

This process is very exciting! I wish we all receive our approvals shortly!

Congrats!!!

I was thinking to call since I have seen later cases been approved already. Maybe it takes longer because we're both divorced so is more papers for USCIS to look at.

I'm hoping for quick approval

Thanks! Hopefully they move on your case soon

I'll say what I always say - do not book anything until visa in hand.

Should you hopefully have a visa by November? Sure. Is there a guarantee? Definitely not.
