Hi Rachel and David:
Thanks for the clarification, which makes sense.
So, based on your analysis, if Texas Service Center doesn't get bogged down even more, the interview will be about 10 to 12 months from now. Well, so be it. On the bright side, I read that the Tokyo Embassy is pretty good to deal with for the interview process.
We do see each other regularly, every 4 to 5 months or so. Suddenly that 14 hour flight direct from Boston to Tokyo doesn't seem so grueling. ;) I am in my mid-50's, so time passes pretty quick for me. :)
Thanks again....
Eric

No problem. Glad I could help. My fiancé and I filed in early January so will probably be waiting a while too. I hope it is sooner for everyone. We have waited one month and already feels too long but there's always light at the end of the tunnel. :)

I just received a text saying our package was approved!! :dancing: I did give up and call the customer service center on the 5th of Feb and ask them to look into what was happening. We hadn't seen any updates since they received the petition on 5 Jan. I wasn't even sure it had made it to California. They tried to tell me the USCIS site says it can be up to 5 months. I did mention that I am on this site and have seen all the petitions that were filed after ours getting NOA2's and interviews. And that they are supposed to take the cases in the order they are received. They put in a request to have an officer look into what happened. I just got a text saying our case was updated. So I checked the website and it says it has been approved!

Not sure if the phone call helped or what happened to the case, they don't say. But I am very happy I found this forum and Thank You all for the information and updates!! Without that we could still be waiting for a reply. Good luck everyone, we are very excited about getting the NOA2!

I'm way late jumping onto this thread, but my fiance and I filed on Jan 28th, and we're now eagerly awaiting our NOA2. She'll be over here visiting me in the UK next week, and it's exciting thinking that there's the possibility of our approval coming through while we're together!

I also see that there are a few other people in this thread who's other halves live in Minnesota! Good luck to you (and everyone else for that matter), and let's hope it all goes smoothly.

Thats great. I actually think they will most probably give you an approval very soon, it doesnt take long after an RFE reply.

@joseandyana Hello guys congrats on your approval. I'm also trying to get my K-1 visa for my fiance who lives in Aruba. Our case was received on Jan. 12th 2015, and our case is also going through the Texas Servicing Center being that I'm from New York. I seen that you 2 had your approval expedited due to hardship. I'm in a similar boat which number did you call? Hope to hear from you soon thanks.

Sincerely,

Dana

@Dana and Rosanny: To request an expedite you need to call the Service Center directly - in your case Texas. It is, however, almost impossible to get one. In the case of joseandyana it was given due to the foreign fiance living in the Ukrainian war zone. I am not aware of any civil unrest in Aruba - so this is not gonna work for you. Economic hard ship is unfortunately not a reason for expedite, nor is pregnancy.

What might work are severe medial issues with the appropriate evidence - I hope this isn't applicable to you, because waiting is better than that! Good luck to you on your K1 journey.
