Hi All,

I just want to know how much time will it take to get visa in hand, we got our case approved for I-129F and I-130 simultaneously on 19 Dec'14 and forwarded to NVC for further processing on Dec 22, 2014. I have to sought out things before I leave for USA so have to know the estimate timing. Can anyone tel me what would be the next step.

You are several months away from that yet; first NVC needs to deal with your case and you need to send in more paperwork, then the case gets sent to the embassy, then you need to schedule a medical and interview, then there may be AP after the interview. Best guess: summer of this year, but may be longer.

Yes I am serious; the whole process from filing to interview takes more than a year, and for those from countries such as Pakistan often face additional security checks (called AP) after the interview. Our Guide here explains what you need: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

BTW, just to be clear- your petition has been approved, this now allows him to apply for a visa. His visa has NOT been approved yet, so saying "how long till visa is in hand" is not really correct.

I didn't mean that visa has been approved , I meant to ask the total time to get visa in hand which includes NVC process, interview etc and got the answer from you that it can take a lot of time maybe by Summer OR MORE THAN THAT.

Yep, that is correct.

Yup she is right , it will take that much time. You should be very careful while filling the forms of NVC and providing civil documents and AOS documents. If you made any mistake in them the process will delay more.

My case forwarded to NVC on 23rd of May,no mistake was found by NVC and i got the Visa in January 2015. Almost 7 months, but i was not in AP by the grace of ALLAH. If they put AP it will take further more.

TIP: If you have not visit your husband since last 2 years , do go to Pakistan and meet him because they gonna ask him in interview about it and it is one of the RED flag that your spouse did not visit you till XXXX years.

Wish you good luck with process.
