Hi Members,

My family needs to apply for tourist visa for visiting US. The agent they contacted if forcing them to fill the exact visit dates when they are not aware of exact. Can they fill tentative dates?

Also the agent is forcing them to book air tickets through their agency, while applying for visa. Is it mandatory step to book air tickets for tourist visa these days and do they need actual dates?

What is they fill tentative and cannot visit by that time?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help.

Regards

1. They have to fill the dates. But it's not like they HAVE TO go to the US on that exact dates or something.

2. They should buy tickets after getting their visas. Sure, they can buy/book them prior getting visas, but they might lose money if they don't get visas.

IMHO they shpuldn't use any agent why applying for visas. It's easy peasy to do it yourself :) After all you're putting in the application the same info you have to give to the agent.

Thanks a lot guys.

I know agents make it difficult but my family cannot do it themselves, not being very computer loving they cannot fill online form.

YOU can fill out the online application for them. THEY must however be the ones to electronically sign it when you're done.

Do not buy tickets in advance.

Hi All,

If the visitor is sponsoring their own visit, then do they still need any documents from the US contact?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

On a Tourist Visa the applicants there is no sponsorship.

What type of documents from US contact could help them get a Tourist Visa?

Google Tourist Visa in your home country and see what the US Embassy there says

In case you are willing to apply for the US visit visa, you need to mention the purpose of your visit, be it for holiday purpose or business related activities, nor the dates of your visit. You can approach a professional visa service provider who will guide you the overall procedure effectively. Secondly, it is not a compulsion that you book the air tickets from the same agency who is offering you the visa. It is altogether your choice.

Hi,

I was just reading about clause that one should never say that they are going to take care of some pregnant person, and suggest saying NO to it always.

But then in the sample questions they say, officer can ask you if the person you are visiting is pregnant or not and they say be truthful to it.

Now is there any database that stores this information and if somebody says no to this question can they be caught by visa officer?

There are lot of restrictions with the visa it seems.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Regards
