Congrats Helpme123, Isrelidude and everyone who got approved. Sammy, you will be approved, I wish you all the best.

@Helpme123,

Can you please confirm me if you received any other letter (petition or approval of notice from USCIS) other than the one from your local office. What did you receive with your green card? Did you receive any other letter or approval notice when you received your green card.

No other letter was received.

No written letter came with the green card. Just a piece of paper with some bar codes with my green card stuck to it and the USCIS header/footer.

Thanks @Helpme123,

I guess my case is indeed in my local office (Baltimore). We sent our bank statements there AND to CSC. I am just hoping that the office is busy and that's why there's a delay, we are starting to get worried though.. I can't wait to get this weight off the shoulders. I am starting a new job next week and the extension letter is not listed as one of the acceptable documents to prove work eligibility so I might have to go and get the stamp in my passport and find out what's going on.

That's really lame. My current employer didn't ask for my extension letter when my green card expired. And I work for a quasi-government department.

The DMV takes the extension letter and so does the airport immigration officers. I would question your new employer why they don't? It's an official document which you can use to enter into the country with, after all.

They haven't questioned it yet but it's not listed under the I-9 accepted legal documents. It's a big public accounting company so I hope their HR is knowledgeable.. I have my orientation next week and I hope they'll accept it. I was hoping to get my 10 year GC before I start, but it doesn't look like it's happening. I made an info pass appointment just in case in two weeks. My husband and I want it to be over already!

Our HR did accept my extension letter for I-9. I think yours will as well.

If your case is beyond the normal processing time and you haven't received a RFE, then you may want to call USCIS to submit a service inquiry.

I received the congratulations letter yesterday and today my status changed again to "card was mailed" so they mailed me card and it will probably be here tomorrow or the day after. The letter I got came from the local office so I assume the card will come from there as well so it won't be long until I'll have it in hand. Going to Canada on a road trip to celebrate!!!

It is normal, you should wait at least a month before you file a service request after an RFE
