Transcripts include all the information you proivde on your tax return, but they seem to carry more weight as they come from IRS. Just go on their web-site and request "Return" transcripts. There are 2 different types of transcripts, but you don't need the other type. You will need to provide info such as filing status, your expected return / amount you owed to IRS to get transcripts. Hope this helps.

Hi all, I have a question about tax returns vs transcripts. I saw some people are requesting transcripts from the IRS. I was under the impression I send the returns (25-50 pgs) which is what i have from Turbotax/H&R Block. Did everyone request something separate from the IRS to include? Or are my returns I have ok?

Hi guys, thanks for the transcripts info. Since I got an RFE, I decided to order the transcripts to avoid any further issues. Thanks for your advice everyone.

Now, what do you think about this... I had forgotten over the years to add my husband to my work life insurance policy (oops) so I just changed it TODAY. Of course I thought I'd done this back when I changed my name.

I'm wondering whether to just not include any mention of it at all (lots of people do not have life insurance), or if I should get a letter from my office saying that my husband is my primary beneficiary but with no "as of" date. Would a letter without an "as of" date raise a red flag? Is it better to just skip this all together?

If the rfe not saying it don't send it. Send only what they ask.

COngrats to those approved today! For those with an RFE - are your cover letters being signed by just the petitioning spouse or both?

One more quesiton - did you guys include text about your relationship and marriage in your cover letter (to give some context and explain the marriage is based on love)? Or was it simply a list of the attachments? I ask because I'm working on my cover letter now for the RFE- I wrote a couple paragraphs explaining the supporting documentaiton included, in addition to a sort of "table of contents". I also wrote wrote 2 short paragraphs mentioning the major things we've done since we got married (buy a home, get a dog, etc) and talk about how we're in love and excited about the future. Any thoughts? Is that not necessary? Or not advisable to share some personal stuff?

In my opinion it is not advisable, just sent them the info with the table of content and sent them many pictures. You can do affidavits, but to me the new supporting evidence and pictures should be enough
