Sent our package on Jan 9th. So far, USPS still shows the package as in transit to Vermont, although the expected delivery date was Jan 13. I hope it isn't lost... Check hasn't been cashed.

Can someone please tell me if the noa1 extends my green card and gives me permission to work? My green card expired 01/09/15 and I filed late by 2 days. My check has been cashed so I'm expecting the noa1 but I need to go back to work. Do I have to wait until after my biometrics? Thank you

You might want to make a thread and ask about whether late filing effects that at all.

Guess living only 20 miles from the Service Center helps? LOL

  1. NOA came dated Jan 9th, waiting for the biometrics letter. Was looking ahead to citizenship, was a little stunned to see the gov. charge another 600 some dollars again. What the Heck, Should be a crime in itself to charge that much at every step of the process.

Hello everyone,

We received NOA1 (I-797) dated 1/2/15 and are still waiting for Bio appointment. Do we have a reason to worry? should I call USCIS?

Also, the receipt number on the NOA is not found on the USCIS website. Is it normal?

@jentus, just wait for a couple of days it'll eventually come:) did you check if the cashed out your check already? Also the receipt on NOA is not the one receipt number for case status online. They will give another one when you get your biometrics schedule. :) goodluck! And hope I answered your question somehow:)

ohlee20, thank you for your answer. They cashed our check so no problem there. Our application is in VT and I see that none of VT applications have been scheduled for biometrics yet. So i guess it's normal.
