i am just curious as to how this approval process works -

is there a thumb rule for them to decide that a filer needs an RFE or do they just randomly do whatever they feel like at that given point in time?

Personal discretion for the most part.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Yeah, some have sent a mountain of evidence and still received a RFE and others sent very little and got approved. There is no consistancy with this process....which is why we are all nervous nellies until we receive the approval. :clock:

Congrats to the one person that got approved! Lol I was concerned because I sent my paperwork on January 15, 2015. I got my green card extended for one year, but after that I did not hear from USCIS ever again. I saw that for others in CA it only took a couple of months, so I was concerned that it was taking a while. However, I see that for most January filers it is taking as long as mine, so now I am not as concerned.

By the way, I thought I gave my information in an earlier post, but I did not see it on the list.

The receipt date is 1/15/2015, and I did my biometrics on 2/20/2015. I am filing in Davis, CA.

Met my wife: Spring 2010
Became Bf & Gf: July 16, 2010
Got engaged: July 16, 2011
Wedding: August 11, 2012
Sent AOS Docs: December 12, 2012
Rec'd Receipts: December 22, 2012
Rec'd Bio Appt: December 24, 2012 (1/7/12)
Biometrics Done: December 28, 2012 (went early because I wouldn't be able to go on the 7th)
Rec'd Req for Evidence: January 5, 2013 (initial request for my joint sponsor's proof of citizenship)
Sent Evidence Requested: January 10, 2013 (my join sponsor's certificate of naturalization)
Evidence Received: January 15, 2013 (status updated on USCIS website)
Testing and Interview: January 25, 2013 (status updated on USCIS website - now just waiting for the interview date)
Interview date set: January 30, 2013 (our interview was set for March 6th, 2013)

Hi everybody! I'm not on the list, but just saw first January approval and decided to check my status ( I didn't do it for a while) and it says: Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service! So I even don't know the date it was approved:)

I filed Jan 22 ( receipt date), biometrics Feb 20, can't wait now to receive the card!
