How do you get the interview?

I am hoping that some people that had deal with a petition process in the Dominican Republic, can really help me with this. As I am just waiting for my cases to be completed at NVC, and hopefully an interview soon. I would like to know how does one gets the notification for the interview, and what is one suppose to do. For example, if I just get a notification today that my cita has already been scheduled for Febraury 10, 2015, is my husband getting some sore of mail confirmation as well? My husband lives in a Barrio, and mail is something that you don't get when you live in a Barrio (specially ours).. How does he go about it? Doesn't he have to show the letter when he goes for his vaccinations? I would love for someone to share their experience on what they did once they got their cita. I am trying to prepare myself as much as I can... Thank you :-)

NVC has you and your husbands email addresses correct?

Whatever addresses they have that is where they send to. That is how NVC communicates. No postal mail unless there was absolutely no email address filed with them.

You would get Case complete. Than Interview is scheduled within a few days the P4 Interview email comes and that letter you would present at the medical and that same letter also is presented to let the beneficiary into the embassy.

Here you might want to read the info page here on VJ for more info about medical and all that also do visit your embassy website for more current up to date info to verify if there is any.

What is this charge? Do I have to pay again? Is the $265 for uvas after I already pay my IV fee bill? I am very confused...

All immigration forms (see below), supporting evidence, and medical forms should be brought to the embassy. Medical results will be delivered to the Embassy following the exam.

Required documents:

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/iv-required_documents.html

Applicants must pay the full $265us at the cashier inside Consulate on the day of the interview/cita. and pay $11 for visa deliver after approval.

-Cr1/Ir1 Fees

Immigrant Fee ($165) through USCIS

-All Visas- To be paid after visa approval

To deliver visa: $11 USD

Yes, they have all my information. They have my email, cell phone number, address, but they don't have my husband's because we decided that I was the one taking care of everything. Since I speak English, and I live in the US, it is easier for me to take care of things.

Since My hubby is from a barrio I had him create an email address, I will be adding that to my choice of agent so he could get notified that way he could just print his notifications, DR mail system is not very reliable I thing.

You don't pay the $265 if you paid a bill to the NVC.

The 165 you have to pay through ELLIS which you can find at the USCIS website. That fee it's supposed to be pay after you have gone to the interview and before arriving to the US. And I Think tthey are not charging the 11 dollar anymore to deliver the packet to your house since the implemented some new system that you can pick it up in a mailbox at Galeria 360. You can read more about it if you go to the US embasy website http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/visas.html
