How to Adopt Stepdaughter in Dominican Republic? [split topic]

i actually want to legally adopt my stepdaughter that is in dominican republic now. my fiance (k1) is a week away from his interview. my step daughters mother has agreed to let the child come to united states but i want to legally adopt her in dominican republic before she enters the united states.. no applications has been filed for the child because we just found out about her 2 months ago. she is from a previous relationship.. i am stuck because the mother agrees to legally let me adopt the child but i dont know how to begin

To start that process you need go to CONANI and get information about the process

Your fiance can go to usa and you make the petition of the girl,

one thing i can tell you adoption is a litle long process here.

When you be here you can look for informations.

You can petition the daughter as stepdaughter later without problem,

Yes you can.. I am doing it right now. I am currently waiting for my husband and step-daughter's petitions to be completed by NVC. Once you are married, you can file the I-130 on her behalf. Make sure you have all of her papers, and that your future husband the proper court custody papers of his daughter.
