K1 fiancé visa requirement

I've filed k1 visa for my fiancé she is only 17! Since I'm 25. So what I wanted to ask is there age requirement on fiancé visa. Because in required document of 1-129f they didn't claify anything so I'm not sure! Help needed

This depends on the state in which you will get married (and possibly the regulations of her home country). A letter of consent from her parents may be required.

Actually, Nebraska (the state you have listed on your profile) is 19 if you want to do it without parental consent.

Then you will need to either wait until she turns 18 before filing, or obtain written parental consent.

Skyps is *secondary evidence* of the fact that you are in contact with her, it does *not* prove you have

a relationship. You also need pictures, statements from people you both know, etc etc.

Still.. unless you qualify for a waiver, you *must* have met in person within the 2 years before filing, and

that is what the OP did not do.. it was *4* years before filing. So, unless they can get a waiver based on

religious and/or cultural grounds that they could not meet the past 2 years, or a waiver for extreme

hardship (on the U.S. Citizen, by the way), then no, they CAN NOT YET FILE.

Regarding the age difference... good question. I do not know what the minimum age for marriage is in

the U.S., I believe it depends on the state where you want to get married.

One comment.. OP, you mention that you are going to marry your cousin. Although this may be just

fine, I *do* expect USCIS and/or the consular officers will be asking several questions about that. Just

be prepared for those questions!

As I filed fiancé k1 visa..Since I'm living in State of Virginia! "As according to Virginia law I would need parental consent in order to marry 17 year old." So how should that letter be written out! Any suggestion would greatly help?
