I left it blank. Because your spouse is already counted in a, you don't want to double count her, but at the same time your spouse is not zero, so I left it blank. Someone else said you should put zero. At the end, you will have to make the executive decision :D

Whatever you do, DO NOT DOUBLE COUNT YOUR SPOUSE!

Hello all, got NOA2 approval and am preparing the documents, question about I-864EZ form 16 question:
16. Your household size
a. yourself and the person you are sponsoring on this form - 2
b. your spouse-?
What should be filled for b? 0 or leave it blank as spouse was already counted in a.?

I agree with v4b and the others. Just want to add that instead of putting 0 or leaving blank I put an X. So there's a third option :content:

Hello Hello Hello.

Another busy day of prep work, closing accounts, finding random coins under couches, cleaning and taking care of the kiddies. Whew, packing up your life in 2 months with 2 little ones in tow really is crazy!

We've got just 2 months and 1 week to go before we cross our fingers and hope for the best over in the US. Staying in a Townhouse for a couple of months before we can actually find something that we would like to purchase and start a whole new life there.

To the folks that are waiting, I'm still praying. I hate that NVC is down but I also pray that the blizzard isn't as bad as last years was - then that would probably cause NVC to be down for weeks instead of just a day and a half. It seems that the bad weather isn't going to be as bad as they are letting some flights return to NYC. Crossing fingers the reps will be in the office and working hard on everyone's cases.

I think I'll keep checking in - give you an update, a few lines and few hugs. I also can't wait to hear Solenta's case get updated and be reunited finally with her hubby. Lots of love. MoFatsD, over and out!

Let me put it to you this way, just imagine these idiots driving to and from work in a blizzard. If they lose documents feet away in good light and a relatively small area can you imagine in a blizzard? It would take months for NVC to find them. :D So two days isn't so bad then CC. :Dgraphics-love-909133.gif

Awwww thank you sweet heart your so kind and my prayers are for you and everyone still in this nightmare. Please pray we don't get AP and those in AP get out of it quickly. Praying all goes smoothly for you my dear. :Dgraphics-love-909133.gif

Thank you. I know I don't post much but I read and pray for everyone at least once a week ;) I will make sure to say a special pray for you for NO AP lol

So I have good news today, but also bad news.

Good news is that I finally have a scan date and the scan date is January 12. So I'm already over two weeks into the hypothetical 60 days.

The bad news, however, is that the 60 days is hypothetical.

We are currently receiving an increased number of approved petitions from U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services. As a result, we are experiencing increased review times for documents
received.
We expect it will be at least 60 days from the date we received your mail before we complete the
review of your documents. We will notify you when we review your documents.
We are working to reduce these processing times and we appreciate your patience.
See that? At least 60 days. Sky's the limit, who knows how long it'll take, they don't and they don't care.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

Yes that's what I read on my letter too, AT LEAST 60 days. It's worse than torture.

On the bright side, I see a bunch of December scans with CC today, yesterday there was one I think with a December 15th scan date, that's less than 60 days.

It feels as though the closer we get, the further away they make the goalposts. It goes further and further and further. Longer and longer wait times.

I do not think they EVER intend to have shorter wait times. I would be unsurprised if by this time next year the wait time wasn't 'up to 90 days'.

Lol, exactly! Or like running in a dream.

The system they have now is primitive, if they don't change it, things are going to get much worse for sure. They could limit the number of applicants per country.

That would be so unfair. It would end in spouses spending possibly years and years apart. I hope they don't ever do that.
