Hi all. After reviewing all the documents I sent yesterday to NVC I realized I made a silly mistake on I-864EZ and put the wrong DOB for my husband (horrible wife I know :crying: ). I know I can resend this before I get a checklist, but do I just send in the I-864EZ and maybe a cover letter explaining?

I know some others have caught their mistakes early. Advice please? Thanks in advance!

HI :goofy: i'm thinking ours was a few months like 2-3...but i'm not sure it was so long ago....grrr at least you're petitioning for your wife, that means more likely she'll get her visa right away. :dancing: Usually they only put the men in AP. :protest:

yes call them and resend it asap!

I thought no one was above the law in the USA or does that exclude immigration? It's not fair to put mostly men in AP there should be a very good reason to do so not just randomly to fill their quotas. Something needs to be done about this. :(t5063.gif

So screwed up.. spouse process shouldn't take more than couple months from A to Z

I think it should be determined by how long it takes to do background checks. No need for 2 government agencies to be involved (USCIS + NVC).

It takes 2 months to send docs from USCIS to NVC and get a case number, a complete waste of time with nothing getting done.

One of the two should get eliminated (USCIS or NVC).

If you ask me.... Ok NVC is collecting and checking (prepering) documents for the embassy...but....if they find mistake or missing document they should send cheklist for that and say to bring corrected stuff to your interview and not to send it back to them.

That seems plenty enough - we had well over for a family of 4 so they didn't even ask just during the interview they check marked the box that says 'meet' after flipping through. We gave certified documents from our bank, and then we did have an appraisal done for the two international houses we have. But we had enough in savings so she didn't even look through the appraisals. Good luck!!

We have aprox 90% requirements in cash$ rest is in the real estate value. All together we are more then an additional 100% above requirements......so it should be enough....
hoping for the best:))

Ugh. Seriously praying for you - I really feel this process is a Russian Roulette kinda process. Sometimes you spin the wheel and you get a nice person on the phone who helps you and walks you through the process and other times they just cut you off and treat you like you aren't even a human being. And the same with the embassy - sometimes you walk in that office and they've had a crappy day and they are just putting their frustration out on the first person that walks to the window and other times they are super nice and lovely. So sorry your hubby had one that was having the bad day. But thankfully you have nothing to hide and you will get through soon enough. Praying for you!

Thank you!! They rescheduled us for March so it's not that far away. I think the good Lord for that. What bothers me is there's really no reason for this. No red flags. She asked him a total of 31 questions! And on top of that she kept asking again and again and again. I happened to donate eyeglasses and lenses to out reach programs in ghana and she kept asking him what what have you donated? Have you ever donated? And she asked him three different times. Why would she keep asking whet he's donated when I am the one with the frames and I'm the one that sends them out there and we are in different countries. It was just stupid the things she concentrated on. And that part frustrates me.
She has questions about my mom and she asked about me and he told her what was wrong with both of us. Which they already know. And he told her I don't want to have the surgery until he is here because I'll need someone to look after mom. Not to mention myself. And she asked him what could you do for her?
Honestly she was just rude. And he told her well I will be the one running her mom to the doctors and to treatments. And he also told her that she now has two broken bones in her foot. Simply because she's fragile. But the woman acted like she didn't understand how him being here could possibly help her or I.
And regardless of the help he still my husband he should be here.
So I am grateful for the March interview but I find it incredibly ridiculous that we didn't even have a red flag for her to grill him the way she did. And then put him in AP and asked Him for personal cards from me with postmarks. You know she was just grasping at straws. Definitely might be a quota they have to fill
Who knows really?!
I trust in God and I know his reasons are best and I know it's all in his time so we will get through this as well. What is 40 more days compared to six years right?
Thanks again. You guys are all so great!
The only question I would have is has anyone been brought back for a second interview and then still put in AP?

OMG. Was there even any reason why they denied?? Do you have to resubmit the documents and go all over again?? I am so sorry that this has happened - and so in awe that you keep your head up high and know that you will get through this! All the best!!

Get it in quick - some of the time if you resubmit after you had already sent in your documents they will just add it to your file (using the same AOS/IV cover page) and then they don't treat it as the latter date being the date that starts your 60 days. The sooner the better because if you send it in before a rep gets your case there is a good chance you can avoid the additional 60! Good catch and good luck!!
