Been thru the immigration process last year with my mom and it was pretty successful and fairly quick considering the backlogs at USCIS. I am getting ready to start the process all over again for my husband and step daughter and need some insight and since i already know VJ is the place to go I am here once more...

I am getting ready to file I130 for my husband and stepdaughter. We got married on Christmas eve with a few family and friends. He had just renewed his B1/B2 visa in november and visited in December when we got married. He did not stay in the USA, he has returned to our home country of Jamaica. My question is...will this raise a red flag even though he did not stay in the US? I also have put together some evidence to submit with the I130:

copy of my flight info when i went to Jamaica in September

Joint bank account statement (just one month, since he was added to account after we got married)

Life insurance policy listing him as beneficiary

Phone records showing a ridiculous about of airtime (LOL)

a few pictures from wedding and random days including pics we took in 2005

will this be enough??

Getting closer and closer. Day 42 today.

I'm telling you the time goes by quickly it's the last few days that seem the longest but your so close and since they are taking about 54 days, your even that much closer. You need to start calling them 7 days before the 60 days are done. :D WOW we are getting there one day at a time. t5063.gif

Well, I think (my own opinion) that you have a lot of evidence that you have seen each other face to face several times, you have pictures etc. You have phone records something I couldn't get I pay as I go and they never sent me anything no matter how many times I called them. So your good there. If you have texts see if you can get records of those and if you Skype you can get screen shots of those and print them out for evidence. The process is a long one so it will help if you go visit him or he you as much as you can. I know it's not always possible but it would help. I would say 90% can't go back and forth. I know I can't for several reasons.

As the weeks go buy keep gathering evidence don't just stop with what you have and you will be just fine. :D

Much luck to you and graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread. :D

I would count on it being about 54 days, that has been the norm with some at 60 or slightly over but that seems rare. I'll be praying it takes less than 54 days. :Dt5063.gif

I think these folks LOVE to see you wait. Like waiting is the one thing they can do that makes us go absolutely INSANE.

...Waiting for Visa, had the interview on Friday, of course it's a holiday today, so no Visa until probably Wednesday or Thursday...

I know I know...I am SOOOOO incredibly grateful, just the waiting for all of us is enough to...

Good luck! Hoping to send mine off this week as soon as my AOS fee is able to be paid. I feel like I've been waiting forever to send these packages and now my AOS fee won't show up which just delays further. I know it's only a few days and my husband says to just chill. But as most of us in this process know, every day counts when you are away from your spouse.

Hey Vj Friends,

Sorry been busy last few weeks....hope many of u have had CC's, approved, interviews, and smooth POE's. For everyone in the middle of all this, just hang in there...there's light at the end of this looong tunnel.

My husband got his passport back yesterday, paid Elis fee, & booked flight! He will get here Jan 30th & POE will be in Seattle!!

For egypt friends, Aramex sent him a text saying he had a package ready and advised him to go pick it up.

Best of luck for everyone going thru this. Praying for everyone.
