I've submitted all my documents and I have to say, it's hard to learn to roll with the punches. I keep going 'it's only this much longer' but it's hard when I now have to wait for a scan date. I KNOW they received my documents last weekend. I'm an EP applicant. So unless something's gone horribly wrong, they got my documents last weekend. But I have to wait. And wait. And wait for a stupid scan date.

And then wait 60 days to find out if I did everything right and I get CC or if I get a stupid checklist. And then, best case, wait and wait for an interview.

When will I ever learn to just roll with it?

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

My lovely dears from around the world.

Well all the stress, the wait, the pangs, the checking online every 2 minutes to see if CEAC is updated (take a breath) the calling, the waiting, the 'your patience is appreciated', the grumpy reps, the late night forum updates, the wait to see if someone two days before your paperwork submission got a CC, the word CC and what it means to us all. The many short forms that we now know (CEAC, CC, AP, DS-260, DS-261).

The word Checklist was the scariest word in our vocabulary.

It now has come to a close for me. We were in the embassy for merely 30 minutes before everything was closed out and the words, 'good luck with your move to Chicago' fell out of the consular officials mouth. Next week we should have his passport/visa in hand and the uphill planning and leaving will commence.

Lots of love to you all. I will try to be online as much as possible these next couple of months as I'm moving and prepping.

I pray that everyone will soon realize, just like I did, God never gives you too much where you can't handle it - whether you think you can't, you can. It may seem like a long time to be without your loved one but when you push harder and finally the wait is over, you will realize you can. This is a temporary pain that will result in happiness in the long run.

I will update my pages accordingly. Good luck! <3

Woooooooooo Hoooooooooo finally, I'm so very happy for you guys wow what a relief that is and I pray I can feel the same way Feb 19 Th with no AP! Yikes the thread is getting quieter by the day but it's a good thing. Congratulations my dear friend! 127fs2361263.gif127fs2361263.gifsmiley-happy093.gifsmiley-happy093.gif127fs2361263.gif127fs2361263.gifIf you can't make it to the thread please keep us in your prayers. :) God bless and keep you safe.

Congratulations you sent the Docs off one step closer and you need to call NVC to get the scan date, you may never hear from them other wise then you can start the count down while I pray for no Checklist for you guys. It makes a difference to have the scan date so please call and add it to your Signature. :)t5063.gif

So true, maybe you can e-mail them once you have your interview date and see if they can give you an earlier one, it's worth a try. t5063.gif

Thank you so much :)

Does anyone know how long to schedule an interview for Amman?

You made my day thank you so much for making me smile???I will call Tuesday since Monday is a holiday....

Posted

Yay! Are we going to be close? We are looking at homes in Barrington - hubby will be working around Hoffman Estates. Perhaps we will be due in for a coffee break when I reach?? I'll need all the friends I can get seeings how we will be starting a brand new life there. Be warned though...I've lived in Europe too long and drink coffee like water.

Oh so beautiful. So happy for you. I pray my husband has a mere 30 mins as well! And
You are coming to my neck of the woods! Chicago suburbs here :)
Welcome and congrats again

Yay! All the frustrations and wait amounting to this big day (aka the big move day) is all worth the wait. I know it never feels like it when you are actually at the waiting process but this comment proves that the move day makes you forget all the waiting!! Congrats!!

Omg, so beautifully stated!! God bless you and your family with this new exciting part of the process: the one it depends all of you and your time to move!!
So happy this had a smooth closure! For sure the Universe has saved great things to us who believed in love even with all the odds against it.
My POE will be next week, I'm so excited!!!!

Whoo Hoo and yay for you getting over to the interview thread. Partying together and just for my daughter (who loves My Little Ponies)...

cTdl2pu.gif

YAY FOR YOU !!!

2007647uvx4313732.gif

I just saw your other post that said that you guys got the magical N/A's! Now this message is just a memory and the joy and happiness is filling you!!

My wife said last night if the don't move forward with the case this time just cancel the case and either you move here or we get divorced. It's been the most stressful ###### I ever been through in my life.

Oh I think I'll be around...May take a break around April when we move but will be around for sure...there are way too many folks going through stressful times just like I did and if I can be any help or encouragement, it's the least I can do for what others have done for me.

i ditto that.

sad to see you both go but happy that yet another wonderful journey is about to unfold bringing you closer to your loved ones.

i am optimistic that this thread will not die....but do encourage our skilled veterans to stay close by and help us newbies along the way

all the best :)

Sorry. You will. This process will test your patience. But if anything it will teach you that you aren't drowning, only practicing to keep your head above the water which means that the tough times and waiting may feel like an eternity while you are waiting, being on the other side of the waiting game makes me realize that it's all over and that big sigh of relief is the best feeling in the world. And I'm not bragging, just giving you hope that you will feel the same way I do. It will take time though. Write your feelings down in a journal, go and figure out a hobby which will keep you occupied through these tough days...and as always come back to this thread when you feel like you can't take it anymore and your pulling your hair out - we will be here to support and give hope (hopefully!) (L)

Thanks dear, will still be here praying for you on Feb 19th and upwards!! Lots of hugs and I will be around, promise!!

Keep your head up. Another month (as much as I hate to say it) feels like forever, especially when you are the end of things but soon it will come to an end. You've got this and 30 more days won't stop you now!!

seems like montreal just did the second round of booking for February interviews and I was left out.

I guess I will wait for a March interview date. I hope they will schedule me for March. I dont trust this process anymore. Every step seems like a battle.

You made my day thank you so much for making me smile???I will call Tuesday since Monday is a holiday....

So happy to make you smile :D hehehe and really Monday is a holiday! It's official immigration had damaged my brain. :(;) Whats a goil to do! t5063.gif

Yay! All the frustrations and wait amounting to this big day (aka the big move day) is all worth the wait. I know it never feels like it when you are actually at the waiting process but this comment proves that the move day makes you forget all the waiting!! Congrats!!

Whoo Hoo and yay for you getting over to the interview thread. Partying together and just for my daughter (who loves My Little Ponies)...

I just saw your other post that said that you guys got the magical N/A's! Now this message is just a memory and the joy and happiness is filling you!!

Oh I think I'll be around...May take a break around April when we move but will be around for sure...there are way too many folks going through stressful times just like I did and if I can be any help or encouragement, it's the least I can do for what others have done for me.

Sorry. Oh fantastic!! That's really great news. We will probably be staying in West Dundee for a couple of months in one of those townhouse places and then afterwards start searching for a home. I will definitely take you up on that coffee, I would love some tips if you have any ~ I was going to try to find a good forum besides the city data forum.
