I spent the weekend finishing up organizing all of our documents for our interview on Friday January 23 in Santo Domingo. I probably went overboard in preparing, but it feels good to have done so. I have everything organized in a small accordion file that has compartments for our original civil documents, copies of civil documents, copies of the DS-260 confirmation, AOS plus tax transcripts and 2014 W-2, lots of photo evidence with timelines, flight tickets, joint financial records, whatsapp samples, facetime photo samples, and copies of all USCIS, NVC and Embassy correspondence. To this file we will add her original birth certificate, updated police report, medical exam results, and another original copy of our marriage certificate.

My flight is Wednesday to give us one more day ahead of the interview...just in case.

My wife and I are praying hard. As is her entire family and mine as well. I cannot believe the interview day is finally here after 14 months of this process. I'm excited but terribly nervous as well. Although we have a ton of relationship evidence as I was fortunate enough to be able to visit her every 3 to 4 weeks for the last 2 years, I'm still bothered by the notion of how much power the Consular has over our lives at this point. All the time, effort, waiting, and stress all comes down to these final days. I've never wanted anything more in my life than this visa for my wife.

Well said, it's exactly how I feel and no one should have this much power over anyone. There should be more checks and balances and more ways to fight unfair outcomes. I'll be praying all goes well in your interview but I'm sure you don't need it. t5063.gif

Does it have to be a month apart from each other? My husbands Medical is Jan 29 th.

Did you get your passport delivery at your home/residence?

I thought now we have to go and pick up the passport from local blue dart office. How did you choose an option to have it delivered to your home instead of picking it up? Please advise. Thanks.

Hello there,

I just got my interview appointed to the 26th of February! Yay!

Now, I live in Lisbon and my interview will be set in Paris. I read somewhere that they take my passport. How am I suppose to come back to Lisbon after the interview?

Also, I submitted my original birth certificate and marriage certificate to the NVC (as requested by them really) but I still got asked in the letter to bring originals. I assume this is just a mistake and I only need to bring photocopies ? Or a copy of the original (which will cost yet more money)?

Thanks for any replies!

Congratulations!!

Under the freedom of movement we have in the EU (or are supposed to have), you should be able to travel with some other form of ID? I thought it was just the UK in the EU that a passport is needed for entry. I could be completely wrong here, but it's worth researching.

Hahaha that was great.

I have 19 days to the interview! I am going to get shots the week before because I have no documentation of the shots I had a few years ago. Anyone else have to do that?

I have no record of ANY shots, so I had my doctor do a blood draw for a test they do to determine which antibodies I have, which will indicate the immunizations I need. Turns out I needed tDap and influenza. Got them both for free, and she signed a sheet with the results of the blood test and the dates of the shots she gave. I will just bring that with me to the panel physician.

No I got 3 on Dec 8 and I got 3 on January 14, I had all the documents from like when I was a baby, the only one i got like doublé its the hepatitis B, since I had chicken pox when i was a kid they said I only needed 1, will see what the panel say cause in mexico you can only do your medical 1 or 2 days prior your interview!!

Well i think you can use those they said 6 months or something like that but I mean after all this time we know how picky they are, if I was you ill bring 4 different sets with different outfits and hairstyle lol :goofy:

30 more days until interview. Seems as if it will never get here! By the way has anyone ever done a scrapbook for the interview with all photos dates, letters, receipts in it instead of bringing everything separate? Just thinking of ways to keep things better organized and more fun for them to go through.
