Just got off the phone with NVC. I asked if my wife will receive the appointment letter at her home address in DR, she said "no". So, for all Dominicans out there on VJ, please note you're responsible for getting the P4 letter to your loved ones so they can proceed with the medical and all else. Also, she said (which I don't believe) that I don't need to bring proof of relationship! I won't listen to her lol

Well you can't just tell NVC to send when you want to. You will have to call NVC yourself. Hopefully they will send it. They have no idea that you have rescheduled your interview to just a few weeks so you need to convey that to them ASAP. So you need to call.

Or you could try contacting your embassy and see if they will request your casefile from NVC.

Is your sister your Agent for your case and has permission to act on your behalf?

Its the nvc who responded to.my sister that they are no longer in charge of the schedule of shipment..i do have a lawyer but nvc relay information with my sister. My sister already updated NVc that i have moved the sched..perhaps i will try calling embassy and i will ask them if the can request for early shipment.thank you

Hi VJ friends

today i had my interview and at the end of the interview the officer told me i am approved and to come on 12th of January at 2 pm to pick up my passport and visa on it, she gave me an orange slip to get my passport with stamp on it says 12 January. i am planning on travelling on the 16th of January. i am thinking of buying the tickets now because its cheaper around $300 from buying it on the 12th. do you think its good idea to buy it or there is still a chance my visa wont be issued?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

For all the DR folks you need to register after you get interview date. Some for DR should be updating the info page with this its very important news. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican%20Republic&cty=Santo%20Domingo

The Embassy of the United States of America in Santo Domingo is pleased to announce that our new online appointment system, is now accepting immigrant visa applications. The new call center, appointment website, and document delivery service will be fully functional for immigrant visas on December 17, 2014 for Embassy visa interviews after January 1, 2015.

Applicants who have an appointment already scheduled by the National Visa Center (NVC), and K visa (fiancé/fiancée) applicants who have been notified that their case is ready for interview appointment scheduling, should go to the following website:

www.ustraveldocs.com/do

If you have questions about the visa process or about a pending application, please write to support-dominicanrepublic@ustraveldocs.com or call (829) 956-6144 from the Dominican Republic or (703) 988-3410 from the United States.

Applicants who already have an appointment scheduled by the Consular Section of the Embassy do not need to make any changes—they should appear at the Embassy on the day of their appointment and follow the instructions in the appointment confirmation letter. The appointment confirmation letter will appear like this:

Dear XXXXX, YYYYY:

It's always a risk. Visa's machines break. Delays do happen. Just make sure if you have to change the fee isn't too bad. Your choice.

I know this is weird question. but can they tell me that we will not issue your visa on the 12th we need more time to study your case? or is it approved since the officer told me that?

Maybe her DWheelsness will put this in the first post:

This line on your P4 letter:

"Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of
Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal
income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview."
means:
*IF* (and only if) your sponsor (and/or co-sponsor(s)) filed an extension for the prior tax year you must bring the completed tax return to your interview.
Taxes returns are due on April 15th of the year. IF a sponsor or co-sponsor files an extension, this gives you until October of the tax year to file your return. Your embassy/consulate wants to have the MOST RECENT tax return in their files. If you submitted your I-864 without the CURRENT tax return, you must bring it to the interview. If you submitted the most recent tax return with your I-864 YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING!
2014 Tax returns are not due until April 15th, 2015. Therefore, you do not have to submit 2014 tax return info to the Embassy/Consulate if your interview date is prior to April 16th in any given year. This line on the P4 letter is just boilerplate language.
I know it's confusing. I did the same thing. My I-864 was submitted on April 12, 2014 but was not acknowledged by NVC until April 15, 2014. I submitted my 2013 tax returns with the I-864 package. I brought my 2014 returns to the interview (I attended the interview with my spouse), thinking this line on the P4 applied to our case - and the clerk at the Consulate didn't even accept them.
Rest easy! You are fine!
Sukie in NY

It could also be that nvc is taking so flippin log they want to make sure all tax documents are current. I know many who don;t have 2013 at NVC now been there so dang long so when they get to interview they will have to have so I am sure its just to cover their bases.

People should just be aware to make sure they are all up to date and since its end of year I would take that last paystub with me it has what you made better than a tax form ya know.

What if you receive this same message regarding bringing updated info for a co-sponsor but you didn't use a co-sponsor for the I-864EZ? i didn't use a co-sponsor as I don't need one. I am above the poverty level by a lot on all 3 preceding years. Just wondering....thanks!

Can we schedule biometric appoinement in a city other than where interview is scheduled? My interview is in Mumbai (Feb 27th), but I was wondering if I could get biometrics done in Hyderabad where I will be going for Medical. Also, can the biometrics be done much earlier than the interview?

Thanks

What do you mean by biometrics ? You mean fingerprints? do we have to give fingerprints before the interview ? I have an interview as well so I want to find out. please let me know.

Just go to the Social Security office and apply. As far as tracking your green card you can do that on the ELIS system. I have no clue what IOE number is. Most of us are on the other side of that. Any one?? Sukie where are you..

We were never able to track our green card. HOWEVER, the IOE number is: the letters "IOE" plus the 10 digits which are the USCIS ELIS Case Receipt ID number.

Had to look this one up, DWheels. In six months, there have been LOTS of changes in this process (not all for the better, in my opinion)!!!
