Does anyone know approximately what the waiting time is to receive the Social Security Card? We selected "yes" in our DS-260 for that question, and it's been almost a month since the interview, and we still haven't received it.

Also, is there a place where we can track the status of it?

Lastly, to track our green card, I need our IOE number. Does anyone know where I can find that?

Thanks!

Only about 50% of the people who selected "YES" on the DS-260 actually receive their SSN that way. Go to your local office and apply. We got the SSN 3 days later after applying this way. Be sure to bring the passport with the visa foil and the immigration stamp. If the clerk says no - you must have the physical green card, ask for a supervisor. The Passport stamp is enough.

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

Just go to the Social Security office and apply. As far as tracking your green card you can do that on the ELIS system. I have no clue what IOE number is. Most of us are on the other side of that. Any one?? Sukie where are you..

Well you can't just tell NVC to send when you want to. You will have to call NVC yourself. Hopefully they will send it. They have no idea that you have rescheduled your interview to just a few weeks so you need to convey that to them ASAP. So you need to call.

Or you could try contacting your embassy and see if they will request your casefile from NVC.

Is your sister your Agent for your case and has permission to act on your behalf?

Thanks for the information. We'll head over to the local office.

I logged into the ELIS system and found my IOE number there.

When you call USCIS to get the tracking number for the Green Card, they ask for the IOE number.

Thanks.
