My case is F4 and Im wondering if this is possible since some members might need to get back, I wonder if they could get back within the first week even without having their GC yet, I have been reading and this could be possible but not sure... So I wanted some advice from you guys.

Thanks

First, traveling internationally has you dealing with at least two sperate itenties. 1) the airlines that either allow you to get on the plane or deny you boarding, 2) the CBP that determines if you are allowed into the country. #1 is where most all of the probelms occur as you are still in your home country (or some other foreign country that is not the US). The airlines have an agreement with teh US that they will not allow people to travel to the US unless they have the proper documents and the chances of them being turned away at the US border is very slim. So as a traveller you must present a valid passport, a visa, an AP card or a GC that shows you wil be admitted to the US.

Second, I have been reading that if you have at least filed for your adjustment of status (AOS) you may be allowed to re-enter the US per the I-131 instructions, however; see #1 above. This applies mainly for K-1 visaholders.

I am not very familar with the F4 process. When they enter does their visa get endorsed and becomes an I-551 (which is the document number of the GC by the way)? If that is the case, then they have a GC and can travel at anytime using the stamp. They may encounter probelms from #1 above, so use an airline that knows these things--this is one time where the cheapest ticket may not be the wisest choice.

Good luck,

Dave

hi

do they have the i551 stamp in their passport? if so, they can return the next day, as long as a person entered the country and has a valid i551 stamp in the passport, it if for working, living and traveling until the person gets the GC. it is good up to 1 year until the GC arrives in the mail

did the already pay the fee to get the physical card?
