Yea we both will be ok. Don't worry. I typed in my g325 form also where it said print name. I forgot that completely. So, we can type name for sure. Thanks for reminding. :)

I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request) 

NVC: 6 months
Received : December 1, 2014
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : January 1, 2015
Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

USA LIFE
US Entry :4/29/2016 
Social Security : 5/10/2016 (filed from the actual office)
State ID: 5/14/2016
Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!! 

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

Am I right in thinking the USCIS case check site is updated once it's sent, or an email goes out, or something like that?!!

Nope:) after a week or so you can start calling NVC to see if they received your case,assigned case# (it takes up to 30 days), etc.

N-400 Timeline

Hello darlings. Day 50 for me today. Hoping for a response soon.

Quick question. Is it common to get two checklists? We are confident that we sent in (double-checked) exactly what they asked for but I'm still worried.

Im on my second checklist... Counting days again... January 15th

Hey all,

Usually people mention here about calling the NVC for various reasons, but today my wife's cell phone rang when she was at work and it was the NVC calling her! They were calling to verify I'd be at my interview next Tuesday and went over what documents to bring with me. My wife said the lady was very nice and they chit chatted about the weather for a bit. NVC lady said they had about 2 feet of snow there and was surprised how little we have here in Toronto. I'm looking forward to my interview, but will be so glad when it's all over.

@ v4b what carrier you used to send your document in Saudi Arabia, I usually use Saudi post (EMS) ?

I'm actually in the U.S., so I'm not that familiar with carriers in Saudi Arabia.

But my wife sent me her birth certificate from Riyadh to the U.S., she used FedEx, it took like a couple of days and cost SR 170.00, that sounds really fast and cheap I know.

If you dont mind me asking, what did you get your checklists for?

Both was for AOS.. 1st was for Military Record did not check.... That was on Nov 5 then got another one on Jan 7 for a signature that i missed

I thought I had seen some comments or such that there was some notification of it being shipped off, but figured I was confusing the USCIS->NVC with NVC->Consulate....

I was planning on starting to call mid-next week...... once we thaw out from this weekend's Super Bowl Sledding Party ;)

07-11-2017 NOA1 date (rec'd on 14th)

08-03-2017 Daughter and I completed biometrics; May 2018 - I had to redo my biometrics (reason unknown)

WAC17283xxxxx....and we wait...400 days

07-13-2018 I-551 extension stamp (12 mths) obtained at USCIS office in Detroit

09-20-2018 Transferred to TSC

10-15-2018 Text notification "New Card Being Produced"   YAY!!

I have a question regarding filing taxes.

I will be filing my taxes this year and will use 'Married Filing separately' option.

I read on Saylin's wiki that when filing 'Married Filing separately' the first time, we can ONLY file Paper return and not electronic return...

Can someone please shed some light here.

that's correct when I went to file mine I couldn't file electronic they said your first year has to be paper file

I don't think that is necessarily true. In the following states you would definitely need to mail a paper return.

You may not efile with a filing status of married filing separately in a "community property" state (AZ, CA, ID, LA, NM, NV, TX, WA, and WI) -- you may change your filing status to head-of-household if you qualify, or you may print your completed tax return and physically mail it

USCIS

10-24-14 : I-130 sent from South Africa to Chicago Lockbox

11-03-14 : NOA1, Case Transferred to California Service Center

11-24-14 : NOA2

NVC

12-12-14 : Case received by NVC

01-15-15 : Case # Assigned

01-15-15: DS-261 completed

01-20-15: AOS fee invoiced & paid

01-21-15: Mailed AOS & IV Packages

01-22-15: ORIGINAL SCAN DATE- both packages

01-23-15: Sent corrected AOS - caught my own mistake

02-11-15: IV bill invoiced & paid

02-14-15: DS-260 completed

04-01-15: Case Complete

04-16-15: P4 e-mail

05-14-15: Interview Date

05-25--15 : POE, time to MOVE!!!!

never thought about it being from state to state.. good to know.. im in WI so I guess that's why they said that lol
